???Just wanted to get the opinions of the masses.? What FF is your absolute favorite?? And Why?? It can be any FF from part 1 (console) to the latest FFXIV A Realm Reborn (Online MMO).

???My personal Fav..? FF7.? The plot was amazing!? And it's hard to beat a socketing/linking system.? Loved it!

Any opinions?

atorthealmighty : my favorite well i have none because i love every single one except 13-3 my opinion they should have should have kept it at 13-2 because the ending was tragic and now this one is just too much too handle. but hopefully the next three save the final fantasy series these ones final fantasy type 0 final fantasy 15 and final fanatsy 16 time

I haven't played many final fantasy games, but the one which was my favorite is F F 7 as well as you.
I hope in the future to play some more final fantasy, and I might even get a new favorite

I like the franchise because it's a well developed plot.  Each story is different and you're not out rescuing princesses the whole time.  Final Fantasy X was really neat with Sin and the music.  Final Fantasy II and III for SNES are my favorite because they have big casts and different motivations for people to do what they do.  The human element really comes alive, especially Final Fantasy III.

If it comes down to it, I prefer the Dragon Warrior series from NES as my go-to RPG.  Dragon Warrior is super linear but it was a revolution in gaming.  Dragon Warrior III and IV are glorious and I play them from time to time, start to finish.  It's something I'll never stop enjoying.

I think that final fantasy was good at the beginning, but as we get into the 50's and 60's (exaggerating a little) they started to not get as good. My favorite is also Final Fantasy 7 like a lot of you. It was an amazing game that had good plot.

It's a tough to choose between 7-10 because they all have their high and low points so let's just recount them
7: Hasn't really aged very well graphically, but contains the best music and the most memorable characters (and cutscene)
8: Is better than 7 graphically, contains a great story and has a fine leveling system (though I understand if you disagree on that). Sadly it just feels smaller in terms of scale when compared to 7
9: Is probably better overall than 7 or 8, but nothing really makes it stand out when compared to them. Also it feels even smaller than 8 in terms of scale (characters back stories are left somewhat short and there's so much less magic and skills to acquire).
10: Easily contains the best battle system of all these games. Also it feels huge and climactic much like 7 does. Sadly it is also much more linear, contains some rather dull mandatory mini games and has some truly horrendous voice acting.

And the winner is:
Final Fantasy 7

Though it's not the most polished of these games it leaves the most lasting impression after you've played it. It's probably the most demanding and maybe that's why also most satisfying of the bunch in the end.

Though if I'd need to suggest some game that you should start playing the series with it would be 10.

When I started playing Final Fantasies, 7th was my absolutely favorite, but nowadays I'm fond to Final Fantasy VII the story is very interesting and you get to know a little bit about every characters stories and that gives more points for the game. Lot of good side quests and the Colosseum system is hard, so that's good too.. Also the main antagonist is so wicked and evil, not like in some other games he really is a real villain.

I haven't played 7, which seems to be the crowd favorite. But I'm playing 12 and am enjoying it immensely. 3 was pretty good too, probably not the best though. I've noticed that the recent first all fantasy releases haven't been receiving great critical reception:/

D-Does Bravely Default count? Because I love that game. A lot. All the more reason to own a 3DS.

If not, then I guess I'll go with Final Fantasy VI because train suplexing.

Well, I don't really have a very well-developed opinion on the series, as I have only managed to play two or three games from the series. XIII-2, IV?, V? I am not even sure if the last two were the games that I played, but all I can remember is that I played them on the GBA. From what I have seen of the games, though, I can say that they are decent. The stories seemed kind of lame, but XIII-2 was actually pretty, so I guess it has that going for it. The general consensus seems to state that VII was pretty much the best, and I never got a chance to play it, so I might have to play that first, and then get back to you. 

Amazing Amazing Amazing Series. But I think 5 or 6 is enough. Maybe 7 GOOD games. But 50, 60, 70 games, I don't need all of those.

My favorite one will be between these FF7,8, 9, or 10. I do love final fantasy game but, I do have my favorites of what I love to play the most. ^-^

I could never really get into the Final Fantasy games. The only FF game that I liked was Final Fantasy VII. That was the first Final Fantasy game I have ever played. I remember back when the rise of the PS1 was going on, Final Fantasy was like the greatest game series on the console. I don't know if it is just me, but I don't like how every new Final Fantasy game starts with a new story. This was just my honest opinion. Final Fantasy VII will be the only game in the series that I will like.
