What kind of place do you want to live in?  Apartment?  House?  Mansion?  Tell me about it.

Me?  Great question!

I'd take a beach hut, made of rocks and camouflaged with bushes and ferns and small tress so you couldn't see it.  There'd be a secret path along a short rocky staircase next to a waterfall.  It would be in a remote island somewhere, with the beach a four minute stroll to the west, mountains right behind me and protecting my hut from winds and heavy rain and bad weather, and jungle just in front of me.

The falls would soothe me at night with the burbling of water over rocks and I wouldn't need a door because it's 82 every day, sunny, and 74 every night.  It's cool enough to have a light sheet over the bed.  I also have a small bathroom, a wood floor, a table, and i wouldn't need a door because the wind was always fresh.  There'd be a towel across the doorway but animals would never come in and I'd always have the air circulating.

What's your perfect place?

To be honest I am pretty happy here in this apartment in the dirty old town up north. I have enough space for my meagre belongings and yet I am not totally cramped. The city is big enough but it is yet to be some over crowded metropolis. I love the fact that there are four seasons you can distinguish from another. It is cold, yes, and I know lots of people who would prefer to live elsewhere because of that but me I find the darkness and the cold soothing. I doubt I could never be happy where it would be just warmth and sunshine, as crazy as it might sound. Both of those thing make me agoraphobic.

Plus my part of town is not yet totally yuppified. Sure, there are places where you can buy sushi already but you can still get shanked in front of a Thai brothel. So all is not lost yet. But I guess in a couple of years when the rents go up it is the suburbs for me too.

And even though I am a country boy, I never want to go back in the damn woods.

I need a manision...It needs to have a gigantic library, a trophy room, an indoor pool and gym. The front yeard has to have a bigger pool that is on top of an underground aquarium. The glass bottom of the pool would be the top of the aquarium... Yup... There will be the beach in the back, I'll have my own persoanl subway station, and a 4 car garage. There will be a computer room, a video game room, a board game room, and multiple other rooms.

I have two ideals really depending on how my life turns out, if I am single or married but unable to have kids I would love to live in an apartment, it would have a large but not excessive living room with a 32inch tv with a variety of new and retro consoles. There would be a leather L shaped sofa in white with black pillows, the _ part of the L will have it's back to a single large window with a 0.5 meter gap.
Asides from the living room there would be an open plan kitchen dinner with two adjoining bedrooms, one for me and the mrs and a guest bedroom, both are the same size but the main bedroom has a king-sized bed and an en-suite.
It would be situated in Birmingham city centre ideally.

The other ideal would be if I have kids, it would be a reasonably large house in a cul-de-sac with a double garage. The ground floor would consist of a large living room with a 40 inch tv with a 2 seater sofa, 2 single seats and 3 bean bags. The living room would lead on directly to an dinning room and a kitchen which are separate but have a "window" so neither are completely isolated. The overall theme downstairs would be modern but cosy and welcoming, the sort of house your kid's mates could come round without feeling like they are going to be murdered if they make a mess. Upstairs would be four bedrooms, the master bedroom would be the same as above, two of the remaining three would have bunk beds (one per child) and be decorated as per my kid's request. The final would be neutral with a single bed and wardrobe, oh and there would also be two toilets, one downstairs and one upstairs with a shower and a bath included.

Hmm, well i'd been stuck in a leo-palace apartment for the past 14 months, so anything was better than that, but a nicer Akihabara apartment would be ideal for me, it's a pretty crowded city for sure, but at least you have the luxury of blending in.

In a small house (~900 sq. ft) at the end of a dirt road on top of a hill overlooking the Oregon coast. The house would have an old wooden picket fence in front with fading paint, and the house would be two stories, painted cadmium yellow with a balcony on the second floor where I could stand and watch the sea and the sunsets. In the front yard there would be some ferns and those bushes that can be trimmed and have that unique smell (I can't remember the name of them). My back yard would be very small, but with a porch swing and a picnic table, and a pathway leading downhill to the beach.

The house would heat by wood, with a large wood stove in the living room, and I would make homemade bread at least once a week so that there would be a warm bread smell to the kitchen.

If such a place exists I want to live and die in that house.

For me, it's a mansion with a vista. I need 4 stories of modernism with all of today's luxuries. There would be a library, an enormous recreation room, a massive master bedroom, an aquarium, and a 6-car garage. All of these rooms would look as sleek as possible. ?It would follow the main road, and boast an unbeatable view of the Pacific coast.

The perfect place for me would be a secluded 3-4 bedroom house in the woods. Maybe a little town about 10 miles or so off. Cheap payments would have to be a necessary in my perfect place to live as well. I don't need or want anything too overindulgent, just enough for me, my wife, my daughter, and my video game collection (that could grow greatly if it had its own room). Really I don't want to see people and I don't want people to see me, the less interacting I have to do the better so being off in the woods would be nice, plus I use to enjoy hunting when I was a kid so I could start again.

I would like to live in a medium sized, cosy wooden lodge house in the German region of Bavaria within easy reach of the Bavarian Forest. It looks like a really nice place all year round, and even with a few essentials it would still be a great place to live.

A medium size house with your bedroom on a cliff facing the ocean. You watch the  waives come in all the time. A technologically advanced house with extra support. This house would be in a place such as Hawaii.

The size of the house is unimportant, but it would have to be large enough to store all of my stuff. Assuming I stay single, the perfect place would be a small house, in your average suburb. I would be able to play games and watch as much anime as I could possibly want on my ultra-powerful computer with tons of storage space. I would also need space for all of my games and game consoles. There would need to be next to no bugs, with the exception of a lone praying mantis, because those things are cool. Ah, and I would also need access to delicious ramen for my usage for every meal of everyday. Not that instant ramen crap you buy at the grocery store, but some actual authentic ramen. Choices would be unnecessary, but welcome. The house would also have to have sunlight facing in from at least one direction at all times, and be able to withstand an explosion, or a few explosions.

I can dream, right?

I know it's weird and you're probably not talking about this but my perfect place to live would be in New York City. The reason why is because they have the Nintendo World Store and I grew up playing Nintendo. My aunt went there last year around Christmas. She saw The Nutcracker Suite and also went to The Nintendo World Store. She bought me a shirt and the stuffed doll of Baby Mario. That would be my perfect place to live I know it's big but I don't really care
