Something like color:rgba(250,50,50,0.7) does the trick. Note that after making that change to the red content, lowering the opacity didn't hurt readability.

Flash might be completely disabled in layouts so that each post wouldn't have to be edited to remove a malicious swf file. You said you have another attempt, so might as well try. =P
