I've become a savvy trader over the year or so I've been on Steam, and have gotten quite a few good deals out of it.  I have nearly 200 games in my Steam library, and I've spent less than $100 on it all.  Reddit has been my go-to site for trades.  /r/indiegameswap and /r/steamgameswap are the two main subreddits I frequent, along with the giveaway communities.

One bit of irony: I spent  12 TF2 Mann Co. keys on the $1 games of Humble Indie Bundle 11 (but got the extra Giana Sisters game as well).  I regret not waiting for The Swapper and Giana Sisters, but I don't regret getting Dust and Guacamelee!  I had a lot of fun with those, and I don't have as much time to play them anymore.

Where do you go to find people to trade?  Do you trade at all?  And are you interested in trading, given the chance?

I have only traded a handful of times. I have traded a few game codes for other game codes, and I have traded a few cards every now and then. As most people here might know, I usually trade games for Viz. If I get the chance to trade even more, I would jump at the opportunity, even if I get something that is not as good in return as ling as it means that I might have made somebody else a bit happier in the end.

I use to be a heavy TF2 trader. I left momentarily and the market had been destroyed by a new group of traders. So I have just exclusively done casual trading between friends.

I bank all my keys. Get a crap ton of ref then gamble it to craft TF2 hats. I then end up selling them for more than I had before. I also sell trading cards for scrap and such. But I'm more of a TF2 trader than anything else. I've gotten half the games in my steam library from it

over half my games on steam have been from trading.

To date i have gotten three bundles by trading Viz. And like 10-20 games from trading cards.
