It can be difficult at times to stay focused on serving God with my life,
and even when I am doing well at a given time (doing well being
relative of course because I'm still sinful) it is hard to continue without
burning out.

So I was wondering, in what ways do you stay refreshed, spiritually?

Hello, life can beat us down sometimes. I stay refreshed by taking time out of my day to read the Bible and talk to God. I call it my quite time with the Lord. I start my day by reading my Bible and praying. Basically, I'm taking time from my day to spend time with the Lord. I have found that to be refreshing and it helps with my relationship with the Lord.

There are 3 things that come in mind.

1. Be strong in the Word and read it daily. D. L. Moody sums it up so well: "The Bible will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from the Bible." Keeping God's Word in your heart. If you look at Jesus' example when dealing with temptation by Satan is that, even though He is God, He quotes scripture by heart and gave strong reasons to prevent temptations to lead to sin. Besides, as Christians, we should have an interest in God, so there is a desire for us to want to be in the Word.

2. Don't set yourself up to be in sinful positions. Sometimes, there are situations that are just not beneficial and even though the situation itself is not sinful, what it leads next makes you sin. Of course, there is always temptations, which you should read point 1 for that.

3. Have accountability with other Christians. God made us to be relational creatures and that we should seek out other believers to keep each other accountable to become stronger in Christ. Fellowship with other believers in a church.

The fact that you acknowledge and remember that you are a sinner is a good start.

If there is a desire towards God, that means there is a personal relationship with him.

And remember John 11:25 "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die"

For me I go to camp once a year. Obviously that doesn't really help for the whole year, but it does help for a while. I like to go and be a camp counselor and mentor young Christian youth. It is very rewarding and it is really good to be around other strong Christian adults many of whom are way older than me and can offer advice and encouragement. Sometimes just getting away from the insanity of life and just getting away from everything really can be spiritually refreshing. Actually just being in nature for a small period of time helps just by itself.
