So I for one will be playing the original two metal gear games, peace walker, and MGS 3,in order to prepare for the upcoming Metal Gear 5! It's been quite a while since most of us have played a metal gear, and I'm pretty fuzzy on some of the story, or rather naked snake/big boss's part in it,and I'm eager to catch up.

I'd also like to hear any thoughts/opinions/theories/info on the upcoming game!

p.s. Sorry if a similar thread exists.

Metal Gear Solid V seems as if it's going to be a really stellar experience. The new addition of open world as well as day/night elements will certainly bring a new experience to Metal Gear Solid. From the trailers that I have seen, I felt that the game gave off a Red Dead Redemption x Splinter Cell feel, both of which are very solid gaming experiences. I can't wait to play Metal Gear Solid in an open world atmosphere. Though the whole day/night elements and the open world would probably complicate the game (assuming that the elements were not always the same depending on your position within the story instead of more dynamic background elements). I had fun with both Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and should really probably get around to playing Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid 4, but for now, I'll stick to thinking that the hype surrounding the game isn't just a fluke and that he game turns out to be a spectacle to behold.

I play the ported version of Peace Walker every now and then, so it's not actually been all that long since I played an MGS game, I don't think I can force myself to go back to the older games anymore since i've played them all to hell, i'm reserving my excitement till it actually reaches my hands and proves it's worthy of the name it carries.

Ah   Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, I have pre order it back at local game stop. And the game take place in 1975 or Nineteen seventy five,
it shall be pretty good from what I have read on game sites and wikipedia.com    and the star of   "24" Kiefer Sutherland shall be the voice of big boss in both Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and you play as  big boss. Well that shall be a new twist, As The metal Gear fans wait for the releases of Metal Gear Solid V:  The Phantom Pain, Later in this year around Christmas or Thanksgiving of 2014.

I have Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for the ps3 It shall & will be good practice for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, because I not played The Metal gear series in very long time.  I guess I'm rusty

I have Ground Zeroes preordered on PS4. I'm picking up my PS4 tomorrow.

In preparation, I've played through the series twice. One chronologically, one by release, and I've played Snake Eater and Peace Walker before I get to Ground Zeroes.

FrankThePunisherCastle : Word of warning, Metal Gear Rising is entirely different from Metal Gear Solid. You're best off playing Metal Gear Solid HD Collection or Guns of the Patriots for practice, but apparently Ground Zeroes differs greatly from even them.

I cannot wait for this or Phantom Pain.

I shall play Metal Gear 2,3 & 4 if I can find those games, as for MGR aka Metal  the story is different  the Layout is different and I am playing as Raiden  and it takes place Four year after Metal Gear 4  SOP or son of patriots act  but its still has the Metal Gear feel and But it still Metal Gear
there is so much history on the game, if you listen or read the Codec talks.   The Codec talks share years and years about The locations in the game and the history, well Metal Gear Rasing  takes place in2018.  So the History of the game is  like a fore shadowing what might happen in  the   real world  or in our world  and in 2014.

Also thanks for the "word of warring" alexanyways
