I think It is pretty frustrating that mobile games are like very hard and you can't pass. So they force to buy something to advance.

This is in the Final Fantasy subforum, but you didn't even point that out in your post or thread title, so I'm going to not talk about Final Fantasy (just like Quhark).

Of course, I often get stuck in The Legend of Zelda games, especially Majora's Mask (which is really confusing with that whole time travel thing). My solution for when I get stuck? Frantically run around the whole place until I find something. Nearly half the time I
accidentally find the solution to problems in the series. I can recall a time when I was playing a Zelda game and I accidentally threw a bomb. I was all angry that I wasted one of my few bombs, but it exploded and revealed a new room.

I've had a few bad ones, but I think the worse one was when I first started playing Paper Mario: the Thousand Year Door.
You see, in order to get to the Third chapter, you have to go to West Rogueport HOWEVER the only entrance to that area is blocked by Zess. T, who refuses to move until you get her some contact lens. Now, as a kid, I had NO clue where to find said lens, and it never occured to me to ask the shopkeeper to order some in. So for years, I never got past Chapter 2 in that game.
Fast forward a few years where I finally just look up what to do... and facepalm. Because that really should've occured to me a lot sooner.

The most frustrating thing ever in gaming is to be stuck in a point and click game. You just keep clicking and clicking and clicking and when nothing happens you just lose interest in the game eventually. Some of the genre's games are so difficult that rather than being enjoyable they're more frustrating.

During my first play-through on Final Fantasy 2 I didn't understand the stat upgrade concept so my characters were extremely under leveled. When I went to Kas'ion i couldn't defeat any enemies so I was running from every fight, and by the time i got to the boss my characters were all about to die, and for some reason I decided to save right before the boss. I couldn't beat the boss and i couldn't escape from Kas'ion so I got stuck there for four years.

Final fantasy 13 I played it for hours on end and after about a week or so I finally made it to the end boss. I was so excited (I have a short attention span usually get bored and give up before i finish a game) and when i went to face the boss i got my ass kicked. Apparently my characters where to weak to beat the final boss and there was no way to go out of the room so i was pretty much screwed. Haven't played it again till this day.

I found the trade sequence in the GBC Zelda games (Awakening, Seasons, Ages) to be very annoying. They're practically impossible without a walkthrough. Also, the final key hunts in Metroid Prime 1 and 2, and the Triforce hunt in Wind Waker. I don't know why Nintendo feels the need to throw in these overly difficult backtracks into otherwise amazing games.

As much as I like RPGs that have an extremely complex skill leveling system, I find that it can be a very frustrating learning curve. First time playing, you might find that the skills and stats you decided to upgrade when you level up were not good choices, and you find yourself really struggling to progress. You can't undo your level up choices, you have stats/skills you don't use, and you are at a high enough level to where it takes forever to reach the next level at your current location (or in worse cases, there are no more enemies to level up on). So you either spend ours of time level grinding to gain what you need because you gave yourself useless stuff, or you start over with better knowledge on how to level up your character.
I find that to be annoying, in general. But when you figure it all out, you really get into the game's multiple potentials.

A specific moment for me was Super Metroid. I got that game when I was in 2nd/3rd grade. Challenging enough, but there was one point in the game where I had no idea what to do. Searched EVERYWHERE. That point I am referring to is the glass tube. I did everything except use the power bomb on it. Overall, I never used the power bombs except to open yellow doors because I had to. I always saw it as kind of useless. Therefore, I never thought to use it there. I am ashamed to say that I did not beat this game until around 6th grade (that is 3-4 years) ALL because of the glass tube. That tube is the cause of me restarting this game dozens and dozens of times just to see if I could spot something by playing back from the beginning. Years of exploration where I got so freaking excited every time I found a new secret passage I had missed before, thinking this would be the find that would get me through the rest of the game. Every one of those exciting moments led to disappointment and even anger. So many hours of exploration. So many restart attempts. Then, one day, I just randomly let loose a power bomb while in that glass tube. Then, I the thing cracks and shatters. I remember running downstairs to show my older brother that I had figured out. It was so exciting, and such a happy moment for me. But at the same time, it made me hate that glass tube spot even more because it really is the simplest thing. But there is just no indication as to what you are supposed to do there. You have to just randomly try it with no idea if it is what you are supposed to do. That was, without a doubt, the worst "What do I do" moment for me in gaming.

Some missions in the battle network series. There is a fetch quest  in Battle Network 2  where you back track at least 10 times to the same locations in order to advance the plot.

Pretty much when I find any sort of impasse in a game. Sort of like how you feel when you play puzzle games, which is why I do not play them that often, as I am no longer "good" at solving puzzles. I used to, when I was little, but school has actually destroyed my mind, in the way of puzzle-solving. It happens though in many games, especially linear games. There is always something very simple that you have to do, but I just cannot find it, and then I look online to see what I have to do, or I stumble upon it by accident after searching for many minutes, and realize what a fool I'd been only seconds before.

The best example of this is in any Pokemon game when you lose to the elite four. You have absolutely no idea what to do. You just normally just dun around hoping next time that you can defeat them.

DylanMcKaig : Hey, you're a fan of Battle Network too? I love those games. But yeah, there are a few annoying fetch quests, I totally agree. But still, what a great game series. I love it so very much.

I had a lot of trouble navigating the world map in Secret of Mana; you know, right after you get the dragon. I got him right after picking up the game again after not having played for a long time.
The result? I had no idea where any of the town names were/could not recall anything about them. Also, I had no idea where to land to actually get to said destination.

taterii : I'm a fan of battle network too, I guess that makes us all friends then (btw, I think I've seen a rented forum calling MMBN fans, how about we meet up there?).
Anyway back to the main question, I think the worst (what should I do?) moment is for me is:
Fighting games: Enemies with cruel AI that counters every hit I make....god how I hate them!
Example for platform games: megaman 1, the first boss I have beaten was cut an so I went to elecman's stage and noticed some blocks blocking an item (platform laser), I said to myself that I will come back here but....I forgot, so I went to the first wily stage only to be stopped by that high platform and I spent like weeks trying to figure what am I supposed to do and so while I was seeing the walkthrough I face-palmed when I saw that I forgot to pick that item.
RPG: Whenever you are forced to fight an OP boss (best examples can be taken in 7th saga when fighting other adventurers).

Back when I was young and went to preschool my English was pretty bad as I'm not from an English speaking country. I used to play Pokemon Silver because I love Pokemon and I didn't have Internet nor did I have any friends who owned the game so when I got to the tree in Ilex Forest I just couldn't figure out how I was supposed to get past the tree until one day when my English has improved a little and I figured it out by accident... I had been stuck there for longer then I want to admit.

I was young and didn't know what I was doing >.>

I think that the best examples of these are always in metroid games, one of the worst being metroid other m. When I got this game, I had no idea that it was going to be THAT hard, but when you get into all of these dark hallways, you don't know what to do. There are even some areas where I don't even know where to go or what to do, and I have to consult a YouTube game guide. In one of the first missions in other m, you are in a room where you have to kill some aliens, and then move on, but I still have no idea how to move on.

I hate games like Metroid thanks to that kind of frustration. I have to depend on a guide to just get through the entire game thanks to that. I'm not that kind of gamer that just goes anywhere, I can get lost pretty dang easily.
