I'm not ashamed to admit this but...

Yes, I slept in school nearly constantly.

See, I've got a delayed sleep cycle. It is practically impossible for me to fall asleep before 4 AM on a given day unless I'm completely spent. It developed in me, sometime in late middle school, and has remained to this day.

I usually fell asleep at 4 AM at home, only to be woken an hour later to go to school. I got on the bus, slept (it was a 45 minute bus ride) until I got to school, went to the cafeteria, and slept for 30 minutes until school started.

In every class except gym, I slept straight through. I slept in all of my English classes, all my science classes and all my math classes. Throughout the course of a day, I got about 8 hours of sleep, just spread out.

My teachers hated it, but they couldn't really complain, since I didn't bother anyone or snore, and managed to ace tests. The only thing I didn't do was my homework and that's just because I didn't want to do homework (I'm awake at night, so I had plenty of time to do it if I cared).

I never took school seriously, and I still don't. I think it's stupid. You learn a ton of crap you never need to know in real life, like how World War 2 was terrible (common sense) or how to cos-sine crap (still never had to use either in real life).

My SAT scores were good, so I wager 90% of what school taught was common sense crap anyways.

So, I felt perfectly fine nodding off in class to get the sleep I needed.

Well, I don't exactly sleep, but for some reason after tests I get really tired and I sort of fall asleep. I'm not the kind of person that falls asleep easily, regardless of where I am, but on such days, I can probably doze off for a good 5 minutes or so.

I did once. I was about seven years old and the class was way too easy (and therefore boring) for me.

Without a doubt, yes!

I have slept in school countless times. However, it's becoming more regular recently, and I'm not so sure if  that's a good thing. Thank heavens it's not to an academically-threatening extent, but it could be if I don't start sleeping more soon. I better watch out.

The classes I fall asleep in the most often these days is Science class. Honestly, lectures on ionic, covalent, and metallic bonding are not exactly a life-jerking thing, are they? Nope. Unfortunately, I find my teacher catching me most of the time, and I usually end up stuck not knowing the answer to a question I haven't heard - busted.

I do sleep in school - a lot. But that is going to change very soon - hopefully .

Come to think of it, I only do it during the study period which lasts about 40 minutes, and that is only when I have no homework to do or anything important to make up. Getting very little sleep and then waking up at the crack of dawn isn't exactly good for you, and I always feel tired. I also tend to sleep on the bus rides home too, school is just exhausting, putting up with period after period, with loud, ignorant fools all day long. So yeah, as much as I don't like falling asleep sometimes it just happens unexpectedly.

I don't think I've ever slept in school as a student. However, I can certainly say that I have plenty of students who sleep on me. I feel too many kids don't get enough sleep, and that the likely culprit is technology.

As a teacher?  I probably have fallen asleep on my desk at least once during my prep period. XD And then of course, there was the night we got trapped in the school due to snow, and I slept there with about 150 kids.  But that doesn't really count. XD

Yeah, I do sleep every now and again in school, but I never really sleep during a class, since I had an early study hall, and I only have 2 classes that give out homework, so it works out.

Listen, the one class that I want to sleep through is math. She'll give us a five to ten minute lesson, then have has do a page or two. I finish really quickly, so I have like 25 minutes to sit there. We can read, but I finished the book. We can draw, but, I'm not that good of an artist. I try to fall asleep, but then the teacher always says, "You're done already? Here, I have some more work for you to do." But I finish that too. To be honest, if it's not extra credit, why do it? I continue to sit there like a jerk and wait for either the teacher to check our answers (which is even more boring since only three or four kids know the right answers; everyone else has the right answers once in a blue moon), or wait for class to end.

No, I didn't. There are moments though my eyes are almost closing or when I'm starting to fall at my table. But during the breaks I go outside, get some fresh air and a something and then I can survive the next hours. If you try to sleep in my class the teacher will scare you or yell at you so it's not really an option.

mario102 : Maybe yes when I was in Grade 1. Why? because I was like 6 or 7 and I was really stupid that moment and second I slept in class because I was really bored.

It honestly depends on how I am feeling during the school day. Usually, I stay awake, but there have been times when I have slept at school, and even better, during class. If I am really tired, and/or feeling sick, I'll probably end up taking a nap in the class. The only negative to falling asleep in class, is either: missing lecture, or getting yelled at by a teacher. Other than that, I see no downsides. If I find it necessary to sleep, I will sleep, though sometimes I am incapable of falling asleep because the desks and chairs are pretty freaking uncomfortable.

I have slept at school plenty of times. This mostly happened when I was in middle school though, barely in high school. In middle school I would mostly fall asleep in the forensic science class. The teacher was very boring and it was very hard to understand him cause of his Arabian accent. All he did was write very long essays on really big white sheets of paper the night before and make us copy the whole thing. It would get very annoying but it was very easy to pass his class. All you had to do was write down everything and study it. Than you could sleep the rest of the period, the teacher would let you if you finished. There were times he woke me up when I didn't do any work at all. I also had a Stock Market period I never understood what it was or why we had it at the time. I would always get away with sleeping during that period especially that time when the teacher had us write an essay on how to make an peanut butter and jelly sandwich in great detail. In high school I remember falling asleep during my Literature class and the teacher slapped my head. Everyone laughed at me and I never when to sleep again after that.

I remember a few times in high school I would sneak into the teachers lounge and just take a nap on the couch during lunch. I only did it like 10 times before I almost got caught and stopped doing it. Would I do it again? Yes, but it would be a little weird considering I am in college and it would be weird sleeping in a high school.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
