I looked at the trailer for the new sonic game going under the name "Project Needlemouse".This game is going to be a 2-D platformer and "built from the ground-up" according to the teaser trailer on Gamespot.com.It is to be released sometime in 2010.I wanna to know what you guys think but I hope Sega does not screw this one up.

wow, that trailer gave practically no information. If you didn't know what sonic was you would have no idea what it was talking about. The new sonic game looks ok, but what does it mean by "built from the ground up"? Is it some catch phrase, or are they talking about how they made the game? As you said Heartless Sega has screwed many thing up in the past, and since sonic games haven't ever really been my favorite I am a little suspicious of this one. Never the less I will definitely see where Sega decides to go with this game, because there have been a few amazing Sonic games that were really fun to play.

while i admit some of the sonic games didn't have their "charm" as the others did they were still enjoyably games. sonic rush and sonic rush adventure had 2d gameplay and it got good reviews so i'm not doubting anything. i'll still play it cause well, i enjoy all sonic games

I have no idea why the Sonic games after SA2 were bombed by fans. I thought Sonic Heroes was awesome, I found Unleashed very hard but I thought it was cool, and above all, I thought Sonic '06 was the best 3D Sonic game. Why Sonic '06 was so hated is beyond me.

Needlemouse looks awesome, though.

Well considering we have no screens and next to no info I wont hold my breath about this being a return to the true Sonic of days long ago.

what do you mean awful graphics?! Sonic '06's Hi-def cutscene graphics were AMAZING quality, the same can be said for EVERY 3D Sonic game.'06 Also had one of the best, if not THE best storyline in the ENTIRE series.

And people never gave Black Night a chance. A bunch of idiots said it was stupid to give Sonic a sword, and they've never even played the game. It's gameplay is GODLY, the best since games like Kid Chameleon.

As for Heroes, it didn't have the best graphics outside of the hi-def cutscenes, but it was an early GameCube game. I thought it's storyline was pretty cool.

And Shadow the Hedgehog is the best 3D Sonic game. Devil Doom is tough as nails, but that game is freaking awesome.

The Sonic Riders games have no reason to be bombed, either. Those games are incredibly addicting, and they have awesome music.

Having said all of that, Unleashed could have been better. The idea of a werewolf Sonic was a good one, but the execution failed. It was an alright game, though, but I found it real hard.

I don't think the Sonic series has fallen at all. Every game from Sonic the Hedgehog to Black Night has been awesome, and I think the only reason it's hated by fans now is because SEGA always works with Nintendo, and everyone hates Nintendo nowadays. (for no given reason whatsoever)

I really hope you're a troll. Sonic Riders should be bombed because it's an awful cash-in for Mario Kart. I guess CG scenes are amazing in Sonic 06, and the best storyline in the entire series? No, just no. Shadow the Hedgehog is the best 3D Sonic game?

That game was awful, the camera locks when you stand on floating platforms. The storyline was inconsistent, and mostly a lot of the missions were just nothing but a pain in the ass, just sucking the fun out of a lot of it.

I gave Black Knight a chance and it was awful. How can you compare it to Kid Chameleon, that game was good unlike Black Knight.

Sonic series has fallen because all Sega Team does is just add a peripheral to Sonic, make a bunch of s***ty and glitchy levels and call it a game.

Everyone hates Nintendo these days because it abandons remakes of good NES games and just gives losing weight as a game. And seriously, Mario and Zelda have gotten stale.

I could really give two s***s if Sega was paying Sega Team, a million dollars for exclusive Sonic games for their system. People shouldn't hate it for that.

Kid Chameleon is my all-time favorite video game. It would take a VERY well-made, VERY good game to even compare to it in my book. Black Night fits the bill perfectly.

1st all NEEDLEMOUSe is a name of something that was going to take sonic place but canclled at the very last min (you know something like mighty being the beta of sonic) so that mean it might be something even worest then all sonic games ever this MIGHT be sega removeing the sonic series and changing it to needlemouse (that no good) and then we will be playing sonic 06 hoping sega will change thats one of my greatest fears of this game

Yeah I feel the same way as many others do. I like Sonic and don't want to see sega butcher another sega game so I just hope tht this is better then the Sonic games they have recently been making. I'm not saying they were horrible but they weren't anything great either. I hope they do good with this one though. Judging by the video, I really can't tell wither, they don't show you enough to go off of.

Well, I think if executed right, this could be good. And it looks like it will be, judging by GI's preview in this month's issue. I think it'll be great, I'm definitely getting it at some point.
