I thought I would take a moment to introduce myself to the community.? I'm an old school gamer who grew up on the old Atari, NES, along with far more quarters than I would ever admit in the arcades! (And never really out grew them, even as I continued to keep up with the new systems that came out.)??? I fondly remember the days of Missile Command and Duck Hunt, among dozens of other classics.

To this date, my three favorite consoles are the NES, SNES, and Xbox 360.?

More recently, I've been feeling rather nostalgic, as I've pulled my old NES and SNES from the closet for my young children to begin playing with.? As my kids enjoy my old favorites like Iron Tank (NES), The Guardian Legend (NES), and others, I'm rediscovering my love for those games all over again.?

As my children were playing Spy vs Spy (NES) the other day, I started browsing the Internet in search of many of the old games that I don't own, but remember fondly from the times I either rented or borrowed them from friends, and that is how I stumbled across this site!? This site looks like a great resource for those or us who remember the Golden age of Gaming and the games/consoles that followed in its wake!? Not to mention, I stumbled across the old arcade version of Alien vs Predator!!!? I shudder to think of all the quarters I dumped into that old arcade game!

Looking forward to spending many an hour playing games here, as well as introducing my kids to all the games that I used to love so much!? And I look forward to the possibility of getting to know a few of you along the way as well!

Hi, Welcome to Vizzed. I myself grew up on the old games. Some of the ones I had were the Atari, Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo and Game Boy. I like Mega Man, Mario and Donkey Kong games. That is awesome that your kids are discovering the classics and that you still enjoy them. Being able to play classical games is why I joined this site, you will find a lot of the classics on here. Have fun playing them just like the good old days

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Yes, I have noticed that there are a lot of the old classics to be played here.  I've been looking around the last day or so now and trying to locate some of the old Classics that I haven't been able to find anywhere else.  I've been pleasantly surprised that most of them have been readily available.

In recent years, I've found myself picking up the compilation packs of old games whenever they have released for the systems that I own, so I'd have probably come looking for many of these old games sooner or later.  I'm just glad that it happened now, it gives me a chance to show a lot of them off to my kids while they are still young enough to enjoy them and it isn't just the "new" games that impress them.  Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of the new games, but for some reason, most of them just don't seem to hold the same kind of magic the ones I grew up with have!

I like the Mega Man, Mario, and Donkey Kong games as well.  But my true passion when it comes to gaming is the RPG's.  Games like Final Fantasy, Dragon Warrior, Faxanadu, and Shadowgate were among the games that I consistently came back to when growing up.

It looks like there is a great list of games here on the site, and I look forward to playing many of the ones I grew up with, and discovering a few of the ones that I somehow missed along the way!

Hello, Gatekeeper_A! Welcome to Vizzed!

This website is the perfect place for you to play and relive the good old times of gaming. It's awesome that you are showing your kids old school gaming and not many kids these days aren't exposed to them.

Why can't most parents be like you who actually don't mind their kids playing games?

I hope you will enjoy this website as much as I do and keep on gaming!

Thank you both for the warm welcomes!

I agree, most kids should have a chance to play the classics before they get handed the latest Call of Duty, Battlefront, or other similar game.  Its a shame that more people don't have a true appreciation for the roots of gaming.  There's something truly delightful about picking up a game that has a direction pad and a couple of buttons, a simple but engaging story, and those nostalgic 8 or 16-bit graphics!  The old games are perfect in their simplicity and can be enjoyed in ways that many of the newer games can not.

I know I can be pretty quirky about what games my kids are exposed to.  They play a lot of Sesame Street and Disney games, and I make a conscious effort to avoid playing a lot of my M rated, and even a few of my T rated games when they are up.  While I never want gaming to get in the way of their education or social activities, I do enjoy getting to play games with them (I have some health issues that prevent me from being very active physically, so it makes a great activity that I can actually share with them.)  There's nothing quite like having a couple of small kids in your lap while playing 4-player Gauntlet (Or any number of other party games) as a family!

Don't worry about me being shy about questions.  I'm the type of person who always tries to find my own answers, but I'm not shy about asking questions when I cant find my own questions either!

Thanks again for the warm welcomes!  I look forward to being part of the community!  And of course, playing the games!!!
