Okay, so in brawl an item that you can use are poke balls which contain pokemon you can use to turn on your opponents for some easy damage, they are randomly determined and every once in a while you might get a really powerful pokemon to aid you in a time of need. So, back to the topic at hand here, what pokemon would you consider the most useful when you are in a tight spot in brawl? 

Personally, I think gulpin is pretty useful believe it or not, I just stand behind it and wait for my opponent to come by and get eaten by it, then I rack up the damage like crazy when they are caught on the inside and then I KO them. Aside from the legendary pokemon which are all pretty useful, I think weavile, torchic and piplup are pretty good, and the starmie/staryu that blasts stars at the opponent. Those are some of the pokemon I find to be the most helpful and do a lot of damage when you 're desperate. 

So what pokemon do you find to be most useful in SSBB? It better not be a goldeen either....

it's goldeen for sure.... it's actually latias and latios because htey slice at every enemy on the screen but goldeen distracts the enemies with its dorkyness and flopping around the battlefield

Razor-987 : just like Deg said I will have to with latios and latias they are really tough! They beat up your opponents!

As for power, bonsly is the strongest projectile in the game. For use, the lati's. Though you can easily dodge their attacks, once it hits, you can expect some damage.

Don't forget about little Bonslie! I don't really know how to spell his name, but if you hit your opponent with him, they gain at least 60% damage. I'd say he's pretty effective!

Snorlax because he's fat and awesome. Latias and Latios are good too.

I think snorlax is most useful in the game because he could take everyone out in one hit.

   I have to say Starmie. In can pull off lots of attacks. By the time Starmie's done, the person(or I shall say, the victim) will have lots of %s!

supercool22 : I agree, he is pretty fat and he can give a good amount of damage and also hand out a couple of Kos if you are lucky. 

SuperMariofan908 : Starmie is good, and believe it or not, chikoritas attack is similar because they both force the opponent to the edge which can be really helpful...although I like starmie's attack better. 


Lugia and Ho-oh are also two great pokemon as well because their attacks do loads of damage and it is pretty hard to get out of range of their attacks as well. 

"Okay, so in brawl an item that you can use are pokeballs..." They're not just in Brawl, dude. They're in every release.

Anyhow, I like Latias and Latios, Unown, Snorlax, and Clefairy. Latias and Latios as well as Unown are good at dealing damage as well as good at KOing if the enemy is at a high percentage. Snorlax is great because he's very wide and almost guarantees a KO. Clefairy is good because it uses metronome, my favorite Pokemon move. It has multiple attacks it can use, each being pretty useful if the enemy is hit by it (except the darkness one).

Also, Entei and Ho-Oh are probably my favorite legendaries.

I think that Staryu is pretty helpful if you have it in the middle of the arena, and keep the opponent lined up with it to fall to his death, which is always amusing.

I think that Unown is the most useful because it makes an army of them rain down on your opponents, rendering them helpless almost, and they can't get to you to hit you.

Greninja 

I think that moltrais is the best to use because it has a very wide range attack and deals a lot of damage to the character hit.
