What's your favorite game genre? Is it sandbox, shooter, RPG, or one of the many other genres? Feel free to post a game from that genre as an example if you want to. My favorite genre would be RPG. I like how easily you can get caught up in there stories and how there often set in an alternate timeline or different universe. A well know example for this genre would be the Elder Scrolls series.

It is pretty hard for me since my two favourite games have different genres.
One of them is a shooter and another is a sidescroller. So who do I go for?

Well both were very mainstream at some time, sides in the 80's - early 90's and FPS' are very mainstream today. 
Personally there have been more terrible FPS games like CoD and Killzone (imo) so sidescrollers it is...

I would have to say my favorite genre is action/adventure and simulation! I love me some action and real life games like the Sims is awesome I love it so very much. Adventure is just something I always crave to play.

I prefer Platformers and puzzlers. They give me a bit of challenge.
I can kind of do RPGs, but they always end up boring me at some point or another. Except Paper Mario. The characters there have less health so the battles aren't as long for me
