I can't say I would ever want this for anything other than Halo or Killer Instinct. It just seems like it would collect dust really quickly as I played PS4 games without having my room being watched and analyzed by the US government, or to have ads blast across my screen consistently, or to have a much smaller library than the PS4, it just seems like a waste. Worst of all, the game cases have the discs to the left instead of the right, which is massively irritating to me.

This price is outrageous - I would wait a few years to purchase it if I ever wanted to, because usually it will drop to the 100-200 price range.

Come to think of it, I think I remember seeing the CD-i being sold for close to $1,000 US when it was released. lol

I'm going to end up buying an Xbox One, but not before a PS4 because of both the price, library, online services, freedom of action in my home, lower failure rate, ad free content, and more powerful video card. Likely many other things in there but that's just off the top of my head.

I'm always going to end up getting every system, and I loved every 7th gen system, it's just the fact that it's always between Sony and Nintendo when it comes to the amount of fun I have.

Give the PS3 and its games a try when they become really cheap if you're looking for something that will ease boredom and give you an unforgettable experience
