The server told me connection issues and disconnected me multiple times. I could connect back and just be disconnected again. This happened for 3 different games in a 2 week period. Now I'm banned for 24h.My friend was in my party and also couldn't connect so that's how I know it's server side.

While getting banned for server-side issues is terrible, it does make sense in some ways if it's a zero tolerance policy on disconnecting.

I have never actually been banned from any game before but I will say that I have had quite a few connection and server problems.. I went a while and couldn't play some of the games that I liked but I figured out part of it was my internet and the other part was the game server.

More recently, an owner of a server I frequented gave OP to a moderator who proceeded to ban everyone. I've been able to get back in now but no one is on anymore when I check.

24 hours is nothing.
You couldn't connect because of internet connection issues, therefore ruining other peoples games. I know it sounds unfair but the people at LOL don't want games to be ruined by lag.

I hate when people get banned when they didn't do anything. This happens a lot though to many users. Some people get banned for a long time for no reason as well.  I have got banned 2 times for the same reason as you as well.

I've never been banned from a game, but I have been "caught cheating" by a cheat detecring feature in a game, even though I wasn't cheating. Poor connection tried to connect twice to perform a single action, and it was detected as me trying to perform the action twice or something. There was no penalty thankfully, but I didn't really appreciate being called a cheater like that. I take someone challenging my integrity pretty seriously.

Sorry to hear that, I've been banned before but it was because I left matches on purpose. I don't do that anymore now that I've bought skins. If you send in a support ticket their usually good about this kind of stuff if it was at their end.

I would not worry about it. It is not your fault your were having computer and server problems. Other gaming sites are real picky about people disconnecting even when it is not that person's fault.  But in my personal opinion it is ridiculous that you got banned when it was not your fault

Well I hate to tell you this but.... League of Legends actually has loss forgiven when games are extremely laggy ( due to their servers lagging ). It isn't actually possible to get banned if league servers are lagging. You would have to leave the games yourself or the loss of connection would have to be on your end. 
On another note, I have never been banned from league but I have had games timeout due to lag. 4 in a row once. Never got banned, just got loss forgivens.

Oh yes, this has happened to me many times. On my old laptop, I couldn't stay online for more than an hour at a time because of server troubles. so it was really hard to play a full game. I used to get one ban a week on average. Luckily, nothing more happened because it was eventually found out that it wasn't my fault, but 24 hours is nothing though.

Weird, I always get loss prevention when I get disconnects do to server issues. I never get a que leave timer. I must just be lucky I guess. 
Also, I think you can still play other game modes if you get banned from 5v5 Normal que. You might be able to do queues for  draft pick normal, 3v3 Twisted Treeline, any special games going on, Bot games or ranked matches. Not sure  because I never got bans or losses for those disconnects. It even says loss prevention on my match history. Good luck though!

LoL has a LeaverBuster that automatically bans for AFK's and leaving the game. The only thing you can do about it is play games without problems and you will lower your LeaverBuster level.
