Grand Theft Auto V was easily Game of the Year.

So yes, it deserves Game of the Year.

All the other nominees for it were disappointing. The fact it look me about a second to determine the winner between what I had a choice between should show how easy a decision it was.

On that note, I heard that VGX's awards show was the most boring in the event's history.

Shame, I used to like watching it every year.

Yeah, It's a great thing that Grand Theft Auto V got the game of the year for this year, with all the anticipation the game had for 2 years prior to the release, I would agree fully on that. And I really wanted GTA V to win it this year, because I have been playing the GTA series since GTA III, and I think GTA V is the best game from the series and it deserves all it's scores and the Game of the Year award.

The only game that was really a competition for GTA V was The Last of US, but other than that game, they wasn't really any game that competed with GTA V.

I think it's deserving in many ways. Personally I would of given the title "GOTY" to The Last of Us, but say if TLOU never existed. GTA V would most certainly be my Game of the Year.

I haven't played Super Mario 3D World, what with it being a Nintendo exclusive... so I can't obviously judge it.

But I have played the other 3 nominees.

IMO, while Bioshock Infinite is deserving of a top 5 (at best) based on critics merits (I didn't like it, but I recognize I'm a very small minority in this respect), I cannot say the same for The Last of Us or Tomb Raider. Tomb Raider was alright, but I also felt unfulfilled, which puts it in much the same category as The Last of Us for me, and as you know, I wasn't a huge fan of The Last of Us.

Again, I can't pass judgement on 3D World, since it's the only game I haven't played, but I can't honestly imagine it being in the same league as GTA V.

I was disappointed in GTAV. I had much more fun with Saint's Row IV. Between all of the nominated games, I'd say The Last of Us should've won. It had good gameplay, nice variety of environments, great story, and stealth. This one is quite fond of stealth

My friends were annoying me and telling me the new Legend of Zelda game was going to get it. I'm happy it didn't.

I loved Crash Bandicoot, but I disagre. What really has made Naughty Dog special are the Uncharted games, especially 2 and 3.

As for Game of the Year? I can't really comment as I haven't played any of them. . . yet. Though it's kinda funny how Assassain's Creed IV beat out GTAV as action-adventure game of the year, but GTAV wins game of the year.

There were definitely no games that came out this year that could have POSSIBLY competed with GTA V.

When a game is hyped for 2 YEARS, it's gonna take a huge game to deliver a product that the fans are happy about...the fact that GTA V and Rockstar were able to deliver on that hype basically guaranteed that GTA would win GOTY.

I agree with GTA V being the game of the year, although I wish it was The Last of Us. I think because the GTA series is entertaining, there is five of them, and that there was a two-year wait for the game, it easily won the race.
