Any other skiers out there? When did you start, what kind of gear do you have, what kind of runs do you mostly ski, and do you have any interesting stories about skiing?
I started skiing when I was two years old, and I love skiing double diamond bowls, especially when there's powder! I currently have K2 women's all terrain skis (I believe they're called Superific or something?) but I am hoping to also get some powder skis soon! Once, my sister almost fell off a chairlift! Yikes!

I used to ski when I was a kid. Do you mean downhill skiing or cross country skiing?

Nah, I don't ski recreationally. I think it would be cool to ski honestly. I would really like to be able to know how and I think it would be really awesome to ski on a big hill or a mountain. The only thing that would stop me or would prevent me from doing it would be seriously injuring myself badly. That would be my biggest concern is hurting myself or breaking bones from doing it. Otherwise I would love to give it a try.

So to answer your question, I am not a skier and I don't do it recreationally, as cool as it is.

I have gone Skiing once as a kid, and I said I would never do that kind of thing again. I got out on the slopes, and it was just me hitting things over and over again. It kind of really hurt, so i don't do that anymore.

Anyone here who can ski in a forest that is not downhill, where you don't have an instructor  and where you would have to make at least ten kilometers without a line that is prepared in front of you. And I mean, skiing through a forest with at least three feet of old snow. Some Canadian perhaps? Or a fellow northerner?

Like, if you are actually put in the middle of the woods with skis, do you know how to use them? Can you make your way home?

I had only skied once in my life in Vermont and I was terrified, but I eventually got the hang of it and I had fun. I don’t really know the names of the equipment that I used.
