I do not mean I feel upset simply because threads get closed, because I know certain threads need to be. What upsets me ,however, is when I check the Board for threads to post in, and all the good ones at the time are closed. This was much worse back when I used to click without checking a threads open status. Has anyone else seen a good thread in which you had much to contribute or one that interested you more than the others only to find them closed? By the way, hello to all of you whom have stumbled upon this thread in the future after it has been closed!

They could just be duplicates of good threads. I have seen that happen a lot. Or the threads were spammy and the mods just got fed up of it even if it was catching on. I have never seen any decent original threads be closed in my vizzed lifetime, could you possibly give me a link. Then I may be able to comment whether those threads are worthy to be closed or not.

None come to mind immediately, but it is usually a question of some sort. And even if the threads are duplicates, the originals are usually either too old to post in or closed as well. Sorry, I am just not that good at giving examples, but I will post any on here that I find today.

None of the "best" threads are ever closed...unless they have been inactive for at least a month at a time. For the most part all of the "best" threads are posted in regularly.

Whenever a thread is closed, there is good reason for it to be closed. Either 1. Because it's spam/pointless/or breaks the rules in some other way 2. It's a dupe thread or 3. Because it's inactive.

thelastrequim : I usually google old threads, it usually works. You have to put Vizzed at the end otherwise it won't show up because unfortunately Vizzed is not the most popular forum... Shame.

I thought opening up a topic on the same subject myself but with a different wording but was afraid the moderators might see it as a provocation ad close it all the same so I decided against it.

I know how you feel. Most of the good threads have generally long conversations, Something that sparkles your interest.    Actually, I have noticed many positive threads that are closed and I feel a bit agitated that I missed out on such an opportunity to post on a great thread. Although, there are always other threads to post within, so I would not complain at all. Vizzed is full of threads. I never usually run out of threads to post within. Haha!

The ones that just keep existing tend to elicit posts that require little to no thought, which is how they stay open so long. Just because a thread's been closed, whether it happened automatically or not, doesn't mean it's not a great thread. It just means it's closed.

That said, I have only seldomly come across threads that are closed that I've wanted to post in (because I tend to ignore threads completely if they're closed). But it has happened to me, and it is disappointing.

No threads are closed for no reason at all. Sometimes I get upset if I see a thread that I want to post in but it has been inactive for about a month or it's closed which means I can't post in it. If the thread is breaking a rule then I find no reason to be upset. On the other hand, there have been threads closed from inactivity that I would have liked to post on. 

Overall, I have found hundreds of threads that I like that are still open. So I prefer to look at this like a cup 99% full. I'm not going to get sad over that one percent of good threads that are closed when there are so many that are open today. 

I hope to contribute by creating good threads, too.
