I don't notice who made the thread until after I enter because I like the topic itself. By that point I find it useless not to post just because the thread creator can't respond. On the other hand, I haven't posted in any threads created by banned users at this point.

Honestly I do post in threads where the user is banned. If the thread is still open and I like the topic of it, then of course I will post in it. I do make sure and scan the thread that it is family friendly still. I don't want to accidently post in a thread where somebody was flaming unless I had something to say to them or the subject. I don't find anything wrong with posting in banned users threads much at all though as long as the subject of the thread interests me enough to post in.

Most of the threads do not necessarily require a response from the original poster, so even if the original poster is banned or gone, if it's a good thread topic, it wouldn't have mattered. When I post, it's more depending on the topic and whether I know anything about the topic or if is something that I am interested in.

It depends on the thread, but I don't see why I shouldn't post in threads made by banned users. If they're banned for making horrible threads, then the thread will be closed. If they're banned for something else, I'll post in their thread. Take Didowe for example. He's perma-banned, but he's made some pretty good threads.

I agree with deg on this one. Just because a user had been banned, does not mean that they did not make some quality threads that had become popular while they were active. Posting in a thread depends less on the user who made them, and more on the content and quality of the thread itself.

I really do not see how a user's status affects the thread itself . If this thread were created by a banned user, would I not reply to it simply because of that? Of course not. I probably have posted in a thread made by a banned user. I never stop 2 check if the person who made the thread is banned or not so if i see something that interest me i will reply 2 the thread. So it would be pointless 2 make a rule saying that you can't post in a person who is banned thread when it is the job of the staff 2 close "harmful" threads.

Now that I have posted in many threads created by banned users I can definitively say that it doesn't make much of a difference. In most threads the creator doesn't bother to reply to individual responses anyway.
