I am sorry if some of my spelling is wrong it was hard to rember theese. pikachu is up there because of yellow so I included him it may be hard to chopse just one but go ahead choose. And leave a response on why that is your favorite starter.

I have not played X or Y yet, so that takes out the Gen. 6 starters for me. I do not have a liking for Gen. 5 starters for they (in my opinion) are inferior to the starters before them. 

A classic that will always remain in my heart is Charmander. Charizard is one heck of a beast, and sure is in X and Y. It would have to be between Charmander and Squirtle, but I just have much more of an experience with Charizard than Blastoise. 

Seeing how this is more of opinion and personal preference rather than usefulness and stats, I go with Charmander (Charmander si still great regarding stats and competitive usage anyways)

I definitely have to go with Charmander. Charmander is my favorite starter ever. I have always liked the first generation better than the later generations too, although I cannot quite say anything about generation six because I have not played it yet. xD Charmander, besides being my favorite starter, evolves into my favorite Pokémon of all time, Charizard. The fact that Charmander can become Charizard is only icing on the cake.

My favorite starter Pokemon of all time is Chikorita. Why? It also happens to be my first and favorite Pokemon of all time. And, it evolves into another adorable Pokemon that can revive dead plants by simply breathing on them.
