Record yourself playing through as many games as you possibly can. The playthroughs must only be for a game that either has at least 1000 plays and a rating of at least 4 or the game must have at least 100 plays and a rating of at least 8. Playing through the game basically means you start from the beginning and play until you beat the game without cheating.

MEGA Competition:
This is going to be classified as a Mega competition because not only do 5 people get prizes but there's also cash prizes.

RULES and INFO:
-Only videos uploaded after 11/1/2013 count
-You can submit as many videos as you'd like
-If multiple people submit videos for the same game, the user who beat the game the quickest will get the point
-You cannot use any cheats or glitches
-You can do any game just as long as it has at least 1000 plays and rating of 4 or 100 plays and rating of 8
-You can not edit your video in any way, it needs to be raw footage
-Be sure to let me know in this thread which videos you've uploaded
-Be sure to specify which game and system each submission is for
-Your videos must be uploaded to the vizzed youtube account
-You must record your videos with the RGR Plugin
-Each submission needs to be 1 video, now a video broken into parts so if your video is broken into parts, you can use a program like Freemake to merge them into 1 video (the only exception are videos that are longer than an hour, if you're unable to upload a video that is more than an hour long due to it being too big, than you can split it into parts but each part should be an hour or more long each, unless it's the last part)
-You must add your video to the game's page (which should happen automatically when you upload your video to the vizzed youtube account)
-Staff is ineligible for the cash prizes but can still win 1st and 2nd and get the Viz prize
-You can only use an external recording program (like Camtasia) for N64 and Sega CD games since they don't support video recording but the quality must be good and must still take a screenshot with the plugin of the game's ending screen as a way to verify the video was taken by you

Prizes:
1st = US $50 or 75,000 Viz
2nd = US $25 or 37,500 Viz
3rd = 10,000 Viz
4th = 5,000 Viz
5th = 2,500 Viz

Cash Prizes:
The cash Prizes can be paid out in a few ways. I can purchase a membership on a website for you somewhere, I can order something for you off of amazon, I can send you the money via Paypal, I can buy you Microsoft Points, Nintendo Points or Playstation Points and send you the code, I can buy you an Amazon gift card and send you the code, etc.

TIP:
The following systems support video recording: Game Boy Advance*, Super Nintendo*, Nintendo NES, Game Boy Color*, Sega Genesis*, Arcade, Game Boy*, Commodore 64, Atari 2600, Sega Master System, Apple II, Sega Game Gear, Turbo Grafx, MSX, Famicom Disk System, Wonderswan Color, ColecoVision, Neo Geo Pocket Color, MSX 2, Atari Lynx, Wonderswan, Atari 5200, Atari 7800, SG-1000, SuperGrafx, Neo Geo Pocket, SC-3000
*Requires you to play the game using Mednafen Emulator (you can usually access mednafen emulator by clicking at the top left of the play game window)

TIP2:
You may beat the game with another person but only 1 user can get credit for the video. So yeah, co-op runs are allowed.

FAQ:
Do you need to be in high score mode?
-Nope
Do you need to take screenshots of the games as well?
-Only for systems that you have to use an external recording program for which includes Sega CD and N64
Can I use an video editing program to adjust the aspect ratio of stretched games like Genesis?
-Yes you can
Is warping allowed?
-You can use any warp that was intended for the game
Do hacks count?
-Yeap
How do I know when I beat the game?
-Any form of "credit" screen can be considered beating the game
Can I use continues?
-You can use continues and continue codes, just as long as the full game playthrough is present within the video
Can I do different variations of a game?
-Yes, you can do any and every variation of a game. So for example, you can do 'Toy Story' for both the Genesis, Super Nintendo and Game Boy
Do MAME games count?
-Yes they do and you may use unlimited coins on MAME games.

Seishiro Leonhart : Nope, raw footage only, sorry. If you want, you can record it with the plugin without your voice and than add your voice in 2nd and upload both videos and than just submit the one without your voice to this competition.

I mentioned recording with my game capture in another thread. I know it obviously will not pass the play and rating rule but would those videos count, if they are raw files without any commentary?

Awesome-Kid : Games can be on any difficulty.

MechaMento : For which system would you need to use a game capture? This competition is for RGR games only and most of the RGR games support video recording.

The Mother of Mother 3 :

Also, am I allowed to have a 2P to help me(Example: Having a Partner in Kirby Super Star)?

And are certain genres not allowed(fighting genres can be beaten quickly)?

I, also, have a question.

For some games that I play, there is a place where the credits will play, but afterwards, you can resume game play. For example, with most Harvest Moon games, when you beat the game, you'll get the credits after a certain event happens (which would usually mark the end of the game) but afterwards, it says you're allowed to continue playing. Would these games still count towards the competition? And if so, should we take a screenshot of the last screen of the credits?

Davideo7 : Played through a few games already. But I want to check on something before I do more. You mentioned taking a screenshot of the ending to N64 and Sega CD games because the plugin doesn't support recording. Do we have to do that for games for other systems that do support it? I didn't take screenshots of the endings to the games I have beaten so far, so I need to know if I need to go back and do that.

Davideo7 : This might be just what I needed. Since my life became a complete mess with work, family issues and so on... I've been trying to think about how to get some more time to record videos, maybe a competition will help me on that. I still don't think I would have enough time to win, but it's worth a shot.

Only a question, Is stretching the video considered editing? I doubt it, but it doesn't hurts to make sure. Genesis games would be a pain to record with the plugin otherwise, so I'd say we should be allowed to at least edit the video size and dimension, nothing else. Also, that would result on the competition having better quality submissions overall.

Some games that have difficulty selection end sooner on lower difficulties than on higher difficulties because the game wants you to play on a higher difficulty to get to that point. Tetris Attack (and its variants) does this by limited you to fighting the final boss on hard mode, but you don't get an actual "end" screen unless you beat the game on Very Hard (hidden difficulty) without losing a single match as Yoshi. So in games like this, what qualifies as "beating the game"?

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
