At least the assassin is active again. The only problem is that the game won't end when the town or mafia wins yet leggy said the game won't last much longer. Maybe the Potato has some sort of kill power this round? I also think the mafia has an investigative role on its side so that isn't comforting either.

I think we all know who the assassin is. In fact, it was a consensus earlier in the game. mlb789, duh.

I will now clarify two rules that have popped up.

1. All roles unless OTHERWISE STATED are town sided.

2. The potato description reads as such. "You have a new power... the ability to learn the potato rule. However... to learn it, you must survive for three night rounds (first night round counts). On the day following the third night, you will be told the Potato Rule. You may use this to help your team win. And contrary to logic, you do get a vote."

That is the only role they play. There are no secret hidden powers they have. They can only do what the potato rule allows.

Judging from that response I'd say no to this, but it's possible for the rule to allow the potato to kill under certain conditions.

22. Haunted Tree (Village/Mafia) - Just like the normal tree, except that if you visit it at night, you will die. If shot, appears as "tree".
I think that can account for a lot of the multiple death nights.
Now here's the question: Who is the haunted tree?

All I know is I'm not the Haunted Tree but what if the Haunted Tree is lynched? Does that count as being shot too?

I'm witholding judgement because I'm willing to give mrfe a second chance.  I believe mrfe's role to be more innocent, like maybe a tree, but admit hat he does have a bad habit of jumping to conclusions.  This has left him a target because several bandwagons he has been behind have led to town deaths.  mlb789's post about the Haunted Tree seems to be trying to grasp at straws a bit.  Not enough for me to point a definite finger of suspicion at him, but enough for me to be a bit wary.  I do concede that he has a point, though.  There are likely several trees left, and one might (or is definitely, I don't know the rules well enough) be that tree.

If MLB ends up being town, then I will perhaps jump on a bandwagon to take down mrfe (whether or not he's mafia or the Haunted Tree).  I believe there is a mole on the side of town, though.  Time will tell whether or not this assumption is true.  I hope we'll know more by next round.

We have played our roles, formed alliances, and learned much, but there is almost certainly a mole somewhere among our ranks.  Let us hope that the mole is on our side (among the mafia).

I looked at the post with all the roles listed & it said it had been updated on the 5th of December. The Haunted Tree role wasn't on before this game started so, I have a wild theory here but, I think the Haunted Tree might be related to the Potato somehow. Maybe the Potato created it?

So, you are willing to risk lynching a townie to see if you are right and then will jump on mrfe tomorrow...

The fact that we are only down to 10 people with the amount of people we had at the start of the game, then compared to the amount of mafia members that would likely be left shows that we don't have much time left likely. If that's so, I find it odd that someone who would be town would be willing to risk another day. Therefore, you have my highest suspicion at the moment, so I'm gonna go ahead and vote for you.

I'm going to have to agree here, you've been rather suspicious for a long while and how you've been acting recently only makes you more so. Especially your last (two) posts and the post about the Haunted tree. Although at the same time I can also seeing it as educating the other players but then again I really doubt it's in this game, I remember checking all the roles at the beginning of the game due to it being my first and I never saw it. But this whole time you've looked a lot like the assassin and with how you've been posting even more recently it only goes to increase my suspicions of you.

The Haunted Tree role was added during this game of mafia. I think that means it is in the game. Besides, if mlb is the assassin, why would you want to kill him? There's a good chance whoever the assassin kills will more likely be a mafia member. That's a good way for the town to win.

Haunted trees were on some player's minds as the day's end crept up on them quickly... the days are getting shorter, so very very strange...

Being rushed to come up with a definitive answer, the town panicked, and started discussing names of all kinds for varying reasons.

However, despite this panic, it was the most logical day round the group had played. And Leggy was proud.

So proud in fact, that he isn't even mad that you guys killed mlb789, a member of the Mafia.
