Tristesse Nocturna

‘Neath the transient silver moon,
In the shadows of this tree,
I await the black clouds to part,
And silence to fall.

Say something. Please.

The silence a melody only we can hear,
A rondo as we spin round and round,
Eyes and laughter twinkling like the stars,
Hearts blazing brighter than them all.

It’s so dark here.

Radiant, perfect, harmony,
Imagined maestro calling me.
Further and further we go,
Heartstrings an orchestra
Playing a lacrymosa of bitter ecstasy.

Don’t stop.

I’ll keep you company
In the darkness you bear pressing down,
Though our souls, frozen through,
Are slowly falting, pleading mercy to the fire.

What’s wrong? Tell me what’s wrong!

We are the lucky ones,
Time marching right past.
Keep my hand in your grasp,
See my face next to yours in the vanity mirror,
As summer fades to chilling winter.

And as breath slowly disappears…

Ice creeping once again,
Chilling my being to the core.
Silence oppressively
Has begun to
Haunt me.

Where’d you go?

Standing in front of you,
I brush snow from our tombs,
Tears too cold to come too.
Visions of you and me
Beneath a tangible moon,
And now you are so close and yet so far.

But... We are side by side.

Wind blowing frostily,
Scattering remnant memories
Of ghosts from pasts long gone.

Dawn of a coming day,
Nobody
At the graves.
Phantom music whirling on;
Only the silence knows
To play the grieving song.

Bravo * claps slowly * Nice expression of inner desire and majesty . I love how you use the words in this poem . Each one flows with the other as if it were a river of roaring but subtle emotion . Quite good . 

Nice job. You really have some skill with writing, both stories and poems. You should be an author!

tgags123 : Thank you! I am considering it. I actually wrote poems before I wrote stories. I have tons more saved on my computer, but I wrote this one just yesterday.
