My favorite site is RockPaperShotgun but there only really specify in PC games, other than that the odd Kotaku article. I try and avoid IGN at all costs especially for game reviews.
Also on my android I use AppyGeek and it grabs news from a bunch of different sites and pushes them to my phone, I highly recommend it

I rely on youtube for this. Mainly Machinima but there are also a few other decent video gaming channels that give out a lot of news. Nintendo direct helps since that is directly on the 3DS or Wii and now Wii U so getting onto that does not take long, also some of the Articles on Vizzed are occasionally helpful though there is not topic search for that so I may not read about something I wouldn't search for!
