All the surgeries I have had has been quick and painless (I have had no serious ones). Tell her to be careful with the pain pills (I am sure she will get them, I think you do for any surgery.), they made me feel worse then I did before, they will plug you up if you know what I mean.

The surgery was successful and everything went well. She is eating real food and will leave the hospital tomorrow morning. She will not be able to do physical activity or lift anything heavier than 5 pounds.

I hope your mother is going to be alright. The removal of her uterus is called a hysterectomy. After its removal your mother will be in recovery for a few hours and the doctors and nurses will be watching for signs of pain.

For about 6-8 weeks make your mother doesn't any heavy lifting and gets plenty of rest.
