Yeah, I have quite long nails and they always get in my nails. I remembered when I used to go ahead and lick them to get them off. :p

I get this very very rarely. I bite my nails a lot, so they are pretty short. I have gotten it before, but it very rarley happens.

Thankfully I rarely get it. But when I do I hate it, not only does it look bad, it looks disgusting and I absolutely just cannot stand having that bacteria under my nails. Thankfully I keep them short to avoid this from even happening in the first place, but sometimes they get further under and I just cant help it.

I am very sanitary and tight when it comes to hygiene. I don't like having long filthy, black fingrer nails, especially as a guy. So I try to do everything I can to eliminate this from being a problem at all. But yes I've had it happen to me before, it happens to all of us, no matter how hygienic you are.

First, I think it should be cleared up that the black stuff is not 'bacteria'. It is nothing more than clumps of whatever get under your nails. Dirt, fuzz, etc gets under your nails. The moisture of your skin dampens it, making it all clumpy. Sure, there is bacteria ON the stuff under your nails. But the black stuff itself is not 'bacteria'. It is mainly moist dirt and dust. 

I get it pretty often even the day after I clip my nails. I work with my hands a lot. I run the theatre department at the high school, so I work with wood, tools, oil, paint, etc. I get stuff under my nails almost everyday.

Bacteria? Haha, that would be an awful lot of it.

It's likely due to something you do in your life that causes dirt to accumulate under you nails. Maybe you work on cars, go camping, clean, whatever.

I keep my hands pretty clean.

Usually, when I go outside and play something, I get dirt stuck in. Or if I go to a restaurant and don't have a fork or spoon or something else to eat my chicken with, that gets stuck, too.

I have gotten it a couple of times in my life but I would go straight to the sink and wash them... I find it so nasty when I see people that have it bad... I went to pizza hut the other day and some guy that was handing us our food .. it looked like he had Greece or something from a truck under his.. it was so nasty.. honestly you need to keep your hands clean especially if you are working at a fast food restaurant or any place period.
