I think that is should keep going, I think it is doing just fine at the pace it is. Although I don't really play metroid much, I think that it is fine at the pace it is, maybe it could go a bit faster. I don't think it should be stopped altogether because it is a fairly decent game. So no I do not think that they should stop or slow down the continuation of metroid. I think they should either leave it the way it is, or just speed it up gradually.

I agree with you there, Barathemos. The Metroid franchise still has so much potential and so much they can still do. They have galaxies to work with and can come up with many other species. Metroid Prime 2 and 3 is a pretty good example that there is still so much out there to see. The Metroids may all be gone for the most part, with Fusion acting as the "latest" entry at least timeline wise. But they can't do as good if they don't stop for awhile and think and plan as they go into development with another Metroid game. They have a large enough fanbase to support them so no worries there. But if they really want to attract a crowd they should take their time with a new one and make sure they come up with some great stuff to really reach out at gamers.

But I think that the series has strayed a bit far from its roots recently, with Metroid 3 losing the atmosphere of loneliness, and Other M losing most of the Metroid feel in general. They were both great games but I feel like it's time for a classic sidescrolling Metroid experience to come back, for the 3DS. I think a lot of people would agree with me on this.
