No that happens every year or so, if thats the site dying give it an oscar because damn its going out slow.

To everyone that thinks the site is dying: If you really believe that the site is dying, why are you complaining about it instead of DOING something about it? Post more. Tell everyone you know about the site. Go into a popular RGR game and teach people how to post. I have taught 3 Newbies how to post, and they loved it. Instead of conplaining, do something.

I just don't get all the complaining. Vizzed shouldn't be the only thing in your life! Get a facebook (or an anon one like me) and friend all your friends there! Also, having 152 posting users on the board over the past 24 hours isn't that bad. Perhaps I'm just an idiot and the site is dying because a few people are leaving, but I haven't seen anything to prove it has. Unless the site only has like 20 posters per day, I say we shut up about this and get on with our lives. You want people to post? Post!

Barathemos : I don't see your point. I specifically said that cycles can last about a year or so. Sometimes less. I said in a cycle, there will be a period of time where there are a lot of active members, followed by many of them leaving and the forum side slowing down significantly. So your argument that that is not the case is to show me that 100-200 days ago, there were a lot more active users..... You see how your argument supports your side... none? Yes. There were a lot more active users 100-200 days ago. That was the peak of the cycle. Now a lot of the active members from 100-200 days ago are gone or not active much. It will do that for a while. But new users will join and they will be the new active ones. After a couple or few hundred days after their most active period, it will die down. Of the 9 years Vizzed has been around, this happens A LOT. I don't know why you seem to think this is no different than every single time this happens. The site is not dying. Instead of checking the last 100-200 days, why not look through Vizzed entire activity history. If you crunch the numbers, you will see that this has happened 7-8 times. So, again, you are wrong. All that link that you posted proved is that your cycle is dying, not the site.

Sure, it's changing. I've watched it change so many times and in many different ways over the last 8 years that I'm not too worried about the next phase that comes along.

I no longer expect to see the same group of people here that were here 6 months ago or a year ago or 2 years ago. Do I wish many of them were still here? Of course, but people change and situations change and we can't expect Vizzed to remain static. If it was static then it would actually be more likely to die than if it continued to change.

Barathemos : Okay, so I am lost. If your point is that a cycle has started, then how does that help your stance that the forum is 'dying'? But you should take a look at geeogree's post there. He has been here since the very beginning of the site. Nobody would know more about how this than him. He has seen every active member who has come and gone.

In my opinion, if the site was dying, David would put out an announcement that he will be closing the site. Any responsible Admin of any Board EXSPECIALLY this one would do that. People saying that a "site is dying" is just inactivity. It happens to EVERY site not just Forums. I've been on Gaia Online for quite a while and its pretty dead in some parts, but others a super active to the extreme. People need to stop causing stupid s*** and enjoy a site for what it is. Flame me for being an inconsiderate prick, but drama is drama and people will be people. But this unnecessary lack of intelligence needs to stop.

Naah, it's just having it's own cycle and not all the time the board is extremely active, but that doesn't mean it's dying, it's just a change of pace. It happens. It's normal. I've already witnessed it a lot of times and I'm confident enough that the older users will agree/ agree.
