What's your favorite prophet from The Bible? If you even follow the word of God. (This is going to tick off so many Atheists)

My favorite is Genesis. Genesis said some pretty inspiring lines. Genesis is probably one of the most loved prophets in The Bible. This is one of my favorite verses.

Genesis 12:1

The LORD had said to Abram, "Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show you."

PixelBrick : You probably should have put this in the "Christian Conservatives" forum.
Anyway, I never really thought about it before. I can't choose.

I'm going to move this thread on your request and because it does honestly belong in the Christian forum. But before I do I would like to comment even though I don't follow a religion (I know I don't and I respect the choice everyone makes with it I'm just not personally religious.) I have had a fondness for the book of "Job" I can't honestly even say I remember most of it, It's been years but it was always my favorite to read back when I read the Bible on a somewhat regular basis. To be honest I might go through the Bible again now simply due to the fact it would give me a better understanding when it comes to religious debate because, While I am not a religious person myself religion is still an interesting topic to discuss as long as all parties are being respectful of each other, Anyway, I'm gonna go ahead and move this now.

Ok, so this thread is going all over the place...are you asking for favorite prophet, or favorite book of the Bible? Because Genesis is not a prophet, it's a book. This goes the same with Job. Job was not a prophet, and the Book of Job is a book of the Bible. Can you clarify what you are actually asking in this thread?

Frodlex :

You would do well to read the Bible.  I encourage you to do so  Just a quick note since it's the topic of this thread - technically Job wasn't a prophet.  He was a well respected and rich man that loved God deeply and as you would know, since you read the book, he lost everything, but due to his faithfulness and obedience, God gave him back double what he had lost.  It's quite a sombre (and long) book, but with an awesome ending of God showing that He always fulfill His promises towards those that love Him.

PixelBrick :

Thanks for the awesome thread by the way and quite a difficult choice to make (for me personally )  If I had to choose I would go with Elijah.  God used him mightily.  This guy had such great faith and a heart for God.  It seems like every time he prayed, God answered it.  Not because of how cool he was or holy or whatever (btw no one that walked this planet is or was holy, except Jesus).  He BELIEVED God in every way.  Two scenarios - In 1 Kings 18 where he alone faced off against 450 prophets of Baal and he challenged them to prepare a bull for an offering to their god, but they were not allowed to make any fire to burn the offering.  They had to pray to their god to send fire to burn their offering.  So these dudes danced and chanted, jumped on the altar and cut themselves from morning till noon, but obviously a non existing god does not respond.  Elijah steps up to the plate, builds an altar with twelve stones, places the wood and the bull on the altar, chucks four pots of water on the wood, 3 times!  Everything was soaked.  So Elijah prayed to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and bam! God sends fire from heaven and it consumed the offering, wood and even the stones.  Everyone who saw that fell on their faces and acknowledged Him as the only one, true God.
At another instance, in the same chapter, God gave Elijah strength to run down Mount Carmel and cross country for 14 miles, to reach the city of Jezreel before king Ahab that was probably riding with horses and chariots.

play4fun : I'm pretty sure he was talking about prophets and not books in the Bible, I think simply due to my edgy knowledge on the subject I gave a poor post that ended up fitting poorly with the thread made, I'm sorry for all the confusion, But this only strengthens the fact that I obviously have poor knowledge of the Bible not to mention I totally missed the missed the topic completely. Again I'm sorry for all the confusion this have stirred in this thread, Please don't hold my idiotic lack of knowledge against me. Oh, And I just remembered but if you decide to respond to this let's take it somewhere else so will don't spam this thread.

SoL@R : Oops, I can't believe I completely missed the topic if the thread here, Makes me sound stupid, And I guess when it comes to most religion I quite frankly am un-educated, Sorry for the whole thing there and now the slight confusion that has followed it, I didn't notice that it wasn't book and to be entirely honest I try to stay out of Christian threads, Not because I don't like them or anything but because my knowledge is incredibly poor when it comes to Christianity and the things that surround it. Again, I'm sorry for stirring up confusion, I really didn't mean too.

Elijah is a pro, John the baptist is close, but still second place. Isaiah and Ezekiel are tied for third.
