For me, it's a tie between Final Fantasy 8 (solely for these two songs: 'Man with the Machine gun' and 'Force Your Way') and Opoona, for having relaxing techno music

I have to say that the best video game music is Skies Of Arcadia Legends.

In Skies Of Arcadia, the battle part song is Epic and extraordinary because the music's tone or theme changes when you are losing or winning in battle. It contains a Fantastic soundtrack.

Skies features a beautifully orchestrated opening piece for the menu screen, but unfortunately that's the only place you'll hear something so rich and high in quality. The rest of the adventure is filled with well-composed scores, indeed, but they're not nearly as moving as the fully orchestrated menu.

I especially love the Skies of Arcadia Soundtrack - Main Theme. I used to start the game up and listen to it all the way through atleast once

Pokemon, the old sonic games, all thoses were epic.
My favorite pokemon one was the gold/silver champion theme,
for sonic, sonic 2 boss theme!

final fantasy X final boss hands down.its just such an epic success and it goes brilliantly with the battle 9.9/10

I also love the Final Fantasy X soundtrack. I like the Final Fantasy X Music - Zanarkand and This is Your Story music. Simply beautiful and quite warming.

I also like the Secret Of Mana's soundtrack. I especially like the Opening Theme, Fear Of The Heavens. Simply stunning and classical it is. I'm currently replaying Secret of Mana.
Nowadays I don't replay games that often since there are so many good games out there that I HAVEN'T played.
But there's something with this game that can make me play it over and over and still enjoy it. I guess it's because it's simply a work of art, a masterpiece and totally radical awesome epicness.

I love a lot of the earlier themes from Chrono Trigger. Like Peaceful Days and The Wind's Yearning. Not that the other ones are bad, those are just my favorites.

The one that comes to mind right now is Silent Hill 4: The Room. Room of Angels is just an amazing song and went along really well with the scene they used it in.

My favorite video game music has to Heavy Barrel. Who says 8-bit music can't be good?? Check out Heavy Barrell in the RGR and find out how awesome the 8-bit music in that game is!

I enjoy anything out of Castlevania. Pokemon, Final Fantasy, and most RPGs I like tend to have great music.

In my opinion, I think the ps2 game Shadow of the Colossus has the best back round music.

so although I don't really like final fantasy 7 I got into crisis core recently and well now I sorta changed my mind a bit. Although it may not be the best of all time here is my favourite track.

the zelda series has some of the most iconic tunes ever. The one on the game boy advance with the hat is really one that stick out to me it sounds great for a handheld

While I agree that rpg's and similar games usually have great music, my current favorite soundtrack is that of blazblue because the only way I know how to describe it is that it blew my mind, when I actually started listening to the songs in gallery mode I noticed something new every time I listened to a song.
A close second is Castlevania: Symphony of the Night,which I just find amazing.

I loved the legendary Pokemon music from Crystal Version. I thought it was awesome to hear different music for the legendaries, and when I first bumped into Raikou, I listened to the music for several minutes before proceeding to try to capture it. I also enjoy the Pac-Man theme, which is absolutely classic.

I love Room of an Angel, from Silent Hill 4. It's a little depressing, but, I don't really know why, I still love it
