Mathematical
Pokemon!

Alright
so I have decided to match up random Pokemon all of which have no evolution
chains and decide who would win in a battle by just using base stats and moves
learnt! For this thread this will be the only competition I will have but, I
will be making a new thread with match ups everyone suggests! So time to get to
it! (By the way speed rounds just cut to the chase since I do not want to spend
too much time on these break downs just because this is only the beginning of
them.)

Match
1:

Tauros
vs Pinsir

Now
Tauros’s base stats are as follows:

HP:75

Attack:100

Defense:
95

Sp.
Attack: 40

Sp.
Defense: 70

Speed:
110

Which
makes its total base stats: 495.

Now
Pinsir’s base stats are as follows:

Hp:
65

Attack:
125

Defense:
100

Sp.
Attack: 55

Sp.
Defense: 70

Speed:
85

Which
makes its total base stats: 500

Now
by base stats alone Tauros is at a small disadvantage except its speed makes up
for it just enough to almost break even. Except we are also including moves
learnt through leveling up and Pinsir can learn a number of powerful fighting
type moves which does double the damage that regular moves do to Tauros.
Therefore, Pinsir wins in both base stats and moves learnt. Interesting right?

Match
2:

Dunsparce
vs Shuckle

Two
Pokemon that not many gamers like to use in general but which Pokemon is
actually worse as far as base stats? Well it is time to find out!

Dunsparce’s
base stats are as follows:

Hp:
100

Attack:
70

Defense:
70

Sp.
Attack: 65

Sp.
Defense: 60

Speed:
45

Which
makes its total base stats total to be- 415. Wow much lower than both the first
match’s contenders.

Shuckle’s
base stats are as follows:

Hp:
20

Attack:
10

Defense:
230

Sp.
Attack: 10

Sp.
Defense: 230

Speed:
5

Which
makes Shuckle’s total base stats to be- 505. Wow impressive but is it really?

Even
though Shuckle easily wins as far as base stat total against Dunsparce it has
no attack power or hp or speed! What does this tell you? That is right
Dunsparce can mop the floor with Shuckle in a 1v1 battle! Interesting is it
not?

Match
3:

Chatot
vs Spiritomb

Two
odd Pokemon both from the same generation who both have no evolution chains and
who are used by many different gamers. So who would win this one you ask? Time
to find out!

Chatot’s
B.S. (B.S. now stands for Base Stats so it makes it easier for me):

Hp:
76

Attack:
65

Defense:
45

Sp.
Attack: 92

Sp.
Defense: 42

Speed:
91

Total:
411

Wow
for a Pokemon used a little often it sure has not so great stats!

Spiritomb’s
B.S.:

Hp:
50

Attack:
92

Defense:
108

Sp.
Attack: 92

Sp.
Defense: 108

Speed:
35

Total:
485

Wow
who would have thought Spiritomb’s base stats would be so low even though many
choose to use this Pokemon during tournaments?

So
Spiritomb wins for the stats category by a decently large margin. As far as in
a battle Chatot can barely even touch Spiritomb as well with its attacks so I
have to say overall Spiritomb won this match up!

Match
4 (Speed round):

Sigilyph
vs Bouffalant

Now
what is surprising is both of these Pokemon are used differently and Bouffalant
is actually used much more than Sigilyph. What is shocking though is the fact
that both of these Pokemon’s base stats equal 490. So mathematically they are
dead even as far as base stats!

Now
Bouffalant is used much more due to its only weakness being fighting types
which in its generation there are not many of them while Sigilyph has 5
weaknesses which is most likely why it goes so unused. (Plus it can only learn
1 move on its own that has over 100 power which is ridiculous!)

Match
5 (Speed round):

Miltank
vs Heatmor

Both
of these Pokemon seem to give any opponent trouble. Miltank is used by Whitney
in the Johto region which in games gives just about every trainer a hard time
for the first play through especially if you chose not to catch a Geodude or
trade for an Onix early on. Heatmor is not known to really have a trainer who
is very strong only in some hacked games which I am sure many of you reading
this have played. But either way Miltank actually wins with B.S. total being 490
while Heatmor’s B.S. total is equal to 484. Though Heatmor cannot learn many
different elemental moves by just leveling up it is still used by many gamers
on a regular basis while Miltank goes unused even as a wall which it can
actually play that role better than some more common walls.

Match
6 (Speed round):

Lapras
vs Kangaskhan

Both
of these Pokemon are seen on many main teams especially those that take place
in the Kanto region. Both Lapras and Kangaskhan are in my opinion great Pokemon
to use but believe it or not Lapras is much better stats wise than Kangaskhan
is! With a base stat total of 535 Lapras so far is the strongest competitor in
this whole tournament, Kangaskhan’s base stat total is still 490 which makes it
strong but not nearly strong enough. However, Lapras has 5 weaknesses while
Kanhaskhan only has 1 so if you are ever in need to choose either one of these
Pokemon for your team keep that fact in mind.

So
I hope you all enjoyed this competition and I hope you all make match ups for
me to make a new thread about and let them go at it for your enjoyment!

Interesting. You can actually find out which Pokemon will win in the attacks by using all the move power, type advantages, same move and Pokemon type advantages, attack, defense, special attack, special defense, speed, move accuracy, critical hit ratio, etc., but that is a ton of work.

tgags123 :
Feel free to give me a list of match ups you want to see go head to head like the ones I just posted in this thread. Really want this to turn into an awesome competition/tournament type of thing. Glad you enjoyed the read and I am sorry about all the stupid spaces..... Apparently copy/paste a Word document never works properly on here and its so annoying! I hate it so much I want to rip my hair out!

Deadend136 : If you use the old post editor, which you can find to the right of where you submit your reply. It works better with copy/ paste.

Nice job. It's really mathematical, as you wanted it. It really makes sense. At first glance, the Shuckle vs. Dunsparce seemed like it was Shuckle who'd win, but with all of the work you explained about, it really showed how Dunsparce would actually have the upper hand.

Nicely done, man. Can't wait for more.
