A new era.

Feel free to ask me anything about... well... anything, really. Since we ARE in the Fire Emblem sub-forum of a forum partially dedicated to Fire Emblem, I will request that the focus levitates towards Fire Emblem. However, off-topic questions aren't shunned, so feel free to ask!

Mrfe first off congrats on getting your own ask anything thread, I hope to get/earn a ask Divine Aurora anything thread one day. Now on to my question can you give me a brief summary of Fire Elm in general? (I have no idea what it is). And what is your favorite character in Fire Elm?

Out of every single Fire Emblem game you have played, how would you rate each one individually out of 10?

Divine Aurora : Here we go, lol. Fire Emblem is, in essence, a turn-by-turn strategy RPG. There are currently 13 games in the series (11 unique games), and there are 6 officially released in the US. The series focuses on a small party, with you as the tactician, who must overcome incredible odds and defeat an ultimate enemy. There is always a Jeigan (a unit who comes promoted at the beginning of the game, like Marcus in FE7), who isn't worth investing time in. His/Her stats will be horrid later on, and you're better off spending extra time to level up your lord or other units. If this explanation isn't satisfactory, please ask a more specialized question.

My favorite character is probably... Hector (Lord from FE7).

A user of this : I'll go with Ike, though I'm not particularly familiar with him. Marth just seems... off... lol. I've only found one hacked game I like more than the standard games, which is "The Last Promise". In general, though, I'd actually have to go with hacks... I'm pretty picky with the hacks I play, so I have good experiences for the most part.

Tails the Fox : Ooo, this should be fun. lol.

I've played FE 6-8, 11, and 13. I've tried to play the older ones, but never got into them.

I decided not to go too in depth, if you want me to I can.

I have this one simple question, 

Would you recommend people who have not played the series yet to play it, and if so, what would be your supporting claim for them to get to know the series?

I have heard a lot about the series, both good and bad things, but never got to experience it for myself. Would you -I'm guessing a 'professional'- recommend the series for someone like me?

mrfe : did you know... in the american version of super smash bros melee, there wasn't gonna be marth and roy, because when that game was released, fire emblem didn't exist. but they decided to put the green light, even though nobody knew who they were.

mrfe : Which Fire Emblem character would you add to the new Super Smash Bros? Justify.

Did you get permission from the mods first? lol
Swords, axes, or lances? Fire, thunder, wind, or dark?
Swords and dark magic are obviously better than everything else .

FunnyFurret : I would recommend the game, but understand that it will probably take 20+ hours of playing to complete any of the official games. If you like abusing arena's and stuff, expect 40+ hours. It usually takes me around 46+ hours to get through any of the official games.

Why would I recommend it? I personally enjoy it for the incredibly in-depth story behind the game, and also for the strategy element. You honestly could write a book based off of any of the games, and really only need to add a few sentences other than what is in the game. It's really awesome story-wise, and they keep it challenging yet not impossible so it's really fun. I hope that was explanatory enough for you, let me know if it wasn't.

Sword legion : You could say it's war-like, in that the story is about a small group (generally less than 10 units allowed per chapter) taking on a small army (sometimes up to 60 enemies) again and again. It's objective-based, in that you must capture an objective or defeat all enemies to advance. I hope this answered your question.

Tails the Fox : I would add Rath (FE7), because he is fun. lol. He's actually one of my fav characters, and he's just all-around epic. I don't really have a particular reason, other than that.

Swords and Fire.

In Fire Emblem: Awakening, you are able to pair up characters with one another (by that I mean marriage )
In your own opinion, what are the best "pairs"?

hilacle : Yeesh, all the pairs? Alright... I'm only going to do parent characters, not kid marriages. If you want me to do kids as well, just let me know. I haven't played around with supports much in Awakening, but I like these marriages. They help each other in different ways.

Chrom and Sumia, Nowi and Gregor, Gaius and Panne, Lon'qu and Tharja, Ricken and Maribelle, MU (my unit) and Cordelia, Vaike and Olivia, Virion and Cherche, Lissa and Frederick, Miriel and Kellam, Stahl and Sully.

Again, these are just the ones I've used and liked.

noahd101 : Fire Emblem got its start in 1990, more than a decade before Melee. Our first FE game was the seventh overall.

mrfe : Do you think that the Trinity of Magic should be brought back?
