What are your opinions on military?

Well for me personally, I don't agree with Military, wars being on the go and I'm against wars, I am definitely NEVER going to become a Soldier and going to war!!

But I guess we do need Soldiers to come and protect our countries!!

And I guess people do join Military for variety of reasons such as wanting to protect their country or because there are lots of money involved!!

And apparently Barrack Obama is considering calling war to Sierra, I thought Obama was better than this, why is he doing this!!??

Anyways, what are your guys thoughts on Military?

First, from what I heard, he's not calling war; He's just punishing them for using chemical weapons.

Anyways, to answer your question, I find the military extremely awesome, brave, and useful. They risk their lives just to protect the people of their country.

Now, this is the part where I want to say; Please don't take this personally. This is just my opinion here.

The military wouldn't be needed at all if all of the countries would stop tensions and make up. The real reason why we have them is because our countries can't make up and just get past their differences. Some of the countries fight for really dumb reasons.

"Need an army"
Last western nation that was attacked?

"Protecting their country"
Or to try and impress people which is what half of them get into it for.

"Calling war... sierra"
Im pretty sure thats a radio frequency, I think you mean Syria.
And he isnt planning to declare war, hes planning air strikes.

The point of military is so a bunch of egotistocal morons can exert there will over others. The exception is an army to defend against said morons but every nation has played dictator.
Its actually kind of impressive that they managed to make people believe they are helping the world.
The nation declares war, and the soldier go unquestioningly where they are told, while the uneducated masses wave their flags as if they are achieving something, as they sit in front of their tvs.
Meanwhile the politicians tell us we have brought peace and security to the land. I guess wiping out everyone tend's to make places pretty peaceful.
Usa, uk, france.
Iran, israel, china.
In their countrys they believe we are the aggressors and they the saviours.
In ours, we believe they are the aggressors and we the saviours.
Coincidence?
No.
We all cause the conflicts by flexing our might, threatening each other and generally provoking a response. Just look at the cold war.

Military, the source of our problems, not the solution.
We are all pawns to be "used" by the more powerful pieces, against their rivals and their goals.

Well all I know and need to know is they serve our country if one country didn't have a military that would make the country vulnerable to the other country military I would have a military for my country just for caution of course.
Never know what may happen maybe attacks perhaps.

Figured I'd chime in here just for a second or two. Last I checked from what the Founding Fathers had said, "Stay away from Foreign Entanglements." -Yet the last 50 or so years alone how many wars were started?
And from what I remember about the oath of the military it's to protect it's nation from all enemies foreign and domestic. Yet I don't see them going after the Private Federal Reserve/The Military Industrial Complex that Dwight D Eisenhower warned us about/Or the politicians that want us to war/or their commander and chief.

I have a great deal of respect for the military, having a bunch of current/retired service members in my family, but there needs to be a heavy change in how things are done.
Under the 10th Amendment -It states that the powers belong not to the Federal Government- but to the People and the States. Under the Constitution it specifically limits said government to prevent tyranny- Whole reason they fought against King George.

Also- Three main branches of government are Judicial/Legislative/Executive. Yet to this day there's been constant violations of the powers.

Yet why aren't the military standing up against this? Thank you for your time and to hear my little rant.

I went to the army because I had to. Well okay, I did not weasel out of the draft and would have maybe gone even if I had the freedom to do so.

My luck is that my country nor army has seen a war since the last big one. As for local politics about it. I think we need it, I was happy to be a part of it, but you should only join by choice.

My biggest worry about the US military, is that there were more contracted soldiers by private corporations in Afghanistan and Iraq, than the actual US Army. These are MERCENARIES, and as far as I can tell, are constitutionally not allowed to exist in the US. These are private corporations, who have to maintain a bottom line, they have to pay their employees and maintain the corporation(unlike the US Army which is paid for with tax revenue). This means that they have to stay in business, that means that they benefit from constant warfare, and you can bet that they have major lobbying groups in Washington, how do you think they're funded? This is just one example of war profiteering in the US which has kept us in constant war since WW2.

This is scary, and I think more people should be aware of it.

I both agree and disagree, it is bad when your military is the instigator of a war, but when you are on the defense, you need one.
