I have been fixated on inventory for the month so...

State an item in video games that is useless.
The max you can state per post is three.

If it has been stated once already you can not repeat it for your entry.
But you can give thanks to the person that posted it first.
Or you can agree with the person that posted it first.

Since I know everyone's a Zelda Fan I'll go ahead and mention the sword that breaks. Called "The Giants Knife."

It costs money and wastes time. The real "Bigorn Sword" can be had for free with a side quest. (If I remember correctly. Its Been years. Sue me.)

This is actually a pretty good question.
I say the most useless are the quest items in the Elder Scroll games yes they are important for the quests but you can't even use some of the weapon quest items except maybe for a set of time but thats about it.

I like this question. Here are my 3-

Ink on Mario Kart Wii- this item covers opponents in ink, partially blinding them. We all know how effective it can be when it is used on us. But it is a useless item to use yourself on non human players because it seems to have absolutely no effect on them. They don't wreck into things, make bad turns, or anything. They just continue going on like normal.

The cane weapon in Jekyll and Hyde- a weapon that does not harm, deflect, or remotely effect the enemies in the game

Flamethrowers in Dead Space- the only way to kill the creatures is to dismember them. You must cut or blast off their limbs. Fire doesn't do the job. Takes like half the fuel tank to take down the weakest enemies in the game.

Sword legion : yeah, the ink is no problem when playing on full screen. But if I play it with 2-3 people on one screen, giving me just a little 1/4 screen, that ink can be a pain since everything is already tiny. Especially if that ink covers pretty much the entire center of your screen.

I am suprised that no one mentioned the Knife from Resident Evil.
Games 1 and 2. (I don't remember the full inventory of game 3. Sue me. It's been years.)


Normally Japan has an admiration for edged weapons in nearly all of their games.
So when Resident Evil came out and had the knife as the most useless tool in the box?
It was a time to really start thinking sharply. The game broke tradition of classic gaming in many ways. The bluntest of ways developers got the message across was with the uselessness of the knife.
One of my favourite items for doing such a fine job of braking tradition. In video games.
That's my second entry for the day. Thanks.

Ink Sac from Minecraft, I do not think you can make anything out of these. They are pretty much useless...



Pokeballs, they have a very low catch rate, end of discussion. 

and last, the 3D glasses from the mario kart super circit game...they do not do a lot, except put extra color into the game.
