As you may have seen by my join date and rank, I am in no statistical way new here. However, I'm one of those people that probably everyone has been, one that joined a site and just never ended up using it much. I came here to play some Fire Emblem, my favorite video game series, originally, and it's the reason I came back. I like that you can play a lot of games here, and more than just the original versions. I think it's neat that Vizzed has hacks, one of which I'm working on, translations, and a wide variety of systems. I really like to play old games, even though they were before my time, and I'd like to see GameCube games here if it's at all possible.

On other forums, I am known mainly as Forceman, but also as Big Time Timmy-Jim and Porygon. I'm 13 years old, and I live in Boise, Idaho. I am an avid baseball fan, my favorite team is the Red Sox, but I love to see a game no matter what teams are playing. I'm using an old Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop from 2006. This thing is a dinosaur compared to today's computer. It just can't run strenuous programs, for example most Steam games. It overheats after an hour if I do those kinds of things.

Now for the nubby part of this post. I didn't see whatever button you have to click to change your profile pic and/or profile. Mind pointing this out to me?

Are you REALLY 13 years old?  You certainly don't sound like it, and you seem to write with the intelligence of a much older person... I'm impressed if you're being honest about your age!  Most of the kids I teach can't even explain the concept of rectangle!

In any case, welcome to vizzed as a now (hopefully) more active member!  I really hope we get to see more of your stuff and that you make some great friends here.    I'm sure you will if you stick around!

If you want to change things like your profile pic, you need to scroll aaaaalll the way up to the very top!  Yep... scroll up after reading this post!  There, see the top left of the screen?  Where it says "Edit Profile & Settings"?  Try clicking on that.  

Welcome to the forums, I think I've seen you post in some threads. Although I might have confused you for someone else with a similar name. Anyways, just click on the Edit Profile link on the upper left corner, it's next to the log out link. That's where you can change your profile picture.

I know it seems like I'm not 13, I understand your skepticism, but I'll end up having a moment where I show some immaturity. I'm in this neat school called Riverstone International School, and my parents thought they made me write an extra thing to get in because I used above-level stuff in a mandatory paper.

Is there any kind of community for Fire Emblem hacking here? I have a hack going right now with the help of people on another forum.

There isn't one that I know of. With the Pokemon Hacking competition, it might be hard to find people who are working of Fire Emblem hacks. If you still want to try your luck at recruiting people, you can do so in this forum. Just be sure to abide by the rules when you do so.

OK then, I expected Pokémon hacks to be more popular. I have one last question. What is the protocol for mentioning other communities?

In all honestly, I can't find a definite answer for that. However, I do know that it's not recommended to advertise other websites other than in the Web Splurge forums; even then, those are for things like Facebook and Youtube. So if you happen to find a recruit that would be interested in joining on your hack, you'd probably have to tell them about the other community, where your team can be found, in a form of Private Message or Comments on their Profiles.

I'm positive that a more experienced member will give you an absolute answer to that question though.

Secondly, advertising other sites is prohibited here. Sorry for any inconvenience! I hope you can understand, though. If you mention a site in passing, that shouldn't be a big issue. It's when people say "Hey, check out this great forum site I found" that we step in. We want the site traffic to be as high as possible, and advertising other sites has the potential to cause people to leave, and there are other reasons as well.
