...let me tell you the story of a boy...the boy got the game known as pokemon red...unlike most other kids at the time he did not pick charmander he did not pick squirtle....he picked bulbasaur and he was picked on for it...eventually that pokemon became the kids most trusted pokemon in his team...but that time has passed...still we must look back at the older times and remember are first pokemon and see how they are today...Ladys and Gentlemen...Bulbasaur

MOVE SET

At the start bulbasaur will know only 1 move tackle...like you have a choice

now at level 3 we get growl...ugh

At level 7 we get vine whip a grass type move with a base attack power of 35...its the only grass type move you got and your forced to keep it so just use it for water types until we get another grass type move

At level 13 we get 2 new moves which is...cool sadly the moves are not the best these moves are sleep powder and poison powder and they both have a 75% of hitting now i prefer poison powder but pick what you want

Now at level 15 we get take down now this move can replace tackle this move have a base attack damage of 90 and has a hit chance of 85% sadly the user takes 25% of the damage as recoil so..use it sparingly

NOW AT LEVEL 16 WE GET ARE FIRST EVOLUTION KNOWN AS IVYSAUR...ITS SO FREAKING COOL

At level 20 we get razor leaf and this move will replace vine whip because its a grass type move and has a base attack damage of 55 which is not good but hey its better than vine whip USE IT

At level 23 we get sweet scent...OH COME ON NEXT

At level 28 we get growth now this move raises the special attack and special defense of the up bye 1 stage so...this could be effective but i dont recommend using it

Now at level 31 we get Double Edge now this move is nothing but a better version of take down except it has a base damage of 120 and you still take 25% of the damage so this is a very good move but i wont call it great still i recommend you take it

At level 36 we get...Venasaur...my ultimate creature...he does not need anything introduction all we need to do is look at its glory and move on...

At level 39 we get worry seed...this is an okay move use it if you wont but i wont

Now at level 45 we get synthesis this move restores about half the users health and depending on weather conditions it can go to even 75% so this is a good move use it sometime

Now to wrap this all up at level 53 we get solar beam and this is one of the best moves ever it has a base attack damage of 120 and has a 100% hit chance...oh yeah and you have to absorb the sunlight for 1 turn before you can use it but still its good i recommend you use it

STATS

Okay this guys stats are...not to bad except for the fact that his 2 best stats are special attack and special defense now the problem is that THE SPECIAL ATTACK STAT IS USELESS now you maybe be saying oh whats so bad about that relinquish it has alot of special attack moves OH REALLY FOOL i looked and it only has 3 special attack moves...OUT OF OVER 30...okay moving on this things attack health and defense are okay but i do recommend EV training it to focus on health and speed its defense and special defense can hold off they dont need any help oh yeah this guy only has 4 weaknesses and those are flying fire psychic ice so..half of these are not found commonly in the games so dont worry about that plus this things special defense will hold off most attacks for at least 1-2 turns and...thats it for stats TMS AND HMS

TMS AND HMS

Alright its been a long time since i have said this and...THIS WAS SO EASY and the reason its easy is because this is such a basic pokemon with such basic weaknesses now for the set

Giga Drain
Sludge bomb
Earthquake
Growth?

Alright this set will take advantage of this guys extremely high special attack and it does not learn MANY ON ITS OWN...im sorry i just...anyway since it does not learn alot of special attacks on its own you will have to use tms and hms and thats where giga drain comes in this attack is great because it can be defensive or offensive because it does great damage and it can give you ALOT of your health back now sludge bomb is there basically to be you main offensive move so...its not used to protect you ?from a specific type its just there to chop pokemon down now earthquake...pfft...lets just say the fire types will not like earthquake at all and growth will do nothing but make giga drain and sludge bomb even more powerful and...thats the set GYMS AND RIVAL

GYMS AND RIVAL

Alright this pokemon is great against rivals and gyms its meant to be its a freaking starter now i will be honest it will have some trouble and its most likely that your not going to get far with out your team even in the original game it was tough to solo a gym with this pokemon but if you have a team to back you up you should have little to no trouble with them now your rival will be very easy to beat but once again ONLY IF YOU HAVE A DECENT TEAM TO BACK YOU UP he can take down some of your rivals pokemon but i say only use it on gyms and rivals if you have a type advantage and now finally should you take this thing to the elite 4...maybe it can work out if you have a team backing you up i know i sound like a broken record but its true thats one of the reasons why kids did not like picking this thing in the game because they would have to put in extra work and so thats all i got to say on this

Final thoughts:and thats venasaur and looking back...this thing is not great its just good very good but it did not age well compared to the other starters there are so many other pokemon out there that can fill in the same roll that venasaur can but much better but if you dont compare it to every pokemon under the sun its still a great pokemon its stats are good its moveset is decent and the tms are great i still recommend using it i love this pokemon i always will it was my first pokemon now i was thinking of giving this pokemon a 4/5 but i thought this would be more honest and more reasonable

Fun Fact: as you might have been able to tell i was picked on for picking bulbasaur ironically i beat almost all the kids in my school because i was smart and i actually looked at pokemons stats so i could get the best team possible unlike most of the kids in my school who just picked any pokemon they want...i was a weird kid...

One of your better reviews, nice job. I enjoyed it. I'm sort of disappointed at how you sort of underrated him just because of what he's made for, trolling and defense. His Sp. Atk is not supposed to high, really. Also, you underrated some of his moves, but Pokemon aren't supposed to have perfect move choices throughout leveling. There are other things, but that's what really stood out. Nice job, though.

Nice job, you really go into depth with this, it is very lengthy and detailed, so good job with that. I think this is very descriptive and you really talk about bulbasaur and his moves and other info in depth and I think that is good. He does have some good moves though and I think he is a useful Pokémon, is he my favorite out of the three, maybe not, but he is a good Pokémon. Nevertheless though, good job with this review.

I noticed that your earlier reviews didn't have any subforums on them, and then you put them in the Pokemon subforum. Well, it's encouraged to not put anymore threads in that subforum because they are trying to get rid of it.
