Hello fellow Vizzed members.

I was driving home from work today and something out of the corner of my eye caught my attention. When I looked up to the clouds (I recommend you NOT do this while driving...particularly at night, but that is another issue for another thread), I saw this bright light that was reflecting off a cloud that was next to the moon. While the Moonlight was bright out tonight, this weird light was bright that is was hitting the cloud, but it wasn't going through the cloud for some reason. This light was circling around this cloud for quite a few minutes and at 1 point the light just stopped for a couple of minutes but it eventually starting spinning around in a circle again. This light kind of freaked me out a bit because I can't really explain what I just saw.

I mean I guess there could be some lights that are powerful enough to be displayed on the sky, but shouldn't the light be able to go through the cloud (but then again sunlight doesn't go through clouds). Not to mention I've never heard or seen a light that is able to hit a cloud. Not to mention I know that there isn't any army base near I live and the nearest airport is no where near where this light was shining. So folks...

Can anyone explain what I just saw?

Also just to keep the thread interesting...

Have you seen anything that you couldn't explain for a certain period of time?

I think your theory about someone shining a light up there might be the best. Maybe it was a search party, or a plane a little ways away shining it's lights, or maybe it was those big attention grabbing spotlights that some malls shine up into the sky and spin in circles and the like.

Probably not a sighting of a UFO. Trust me. It's probably just some weird strobe lights from a possible concert going on in the area. Maybe those spotlights the the mall that attract attention could have been it.

It might have been campers in that backwoods area and they were maybe just messing around with flash lights.
That or a plane might have been circling the clouds.
I highly doubt it was a UFO though I could list about fifty more things that may have been the light in the distance you saw.

It seems like it may be a jetplane, or an ordinary plane. Do you have any pictures of it? Did it have any lights around it? If it did, it may be one of those army planes that have all linds of lights on them. They usually take practice flights around nights.

Have you ever shined a flashlight on the ground and you see that circle? This is what that looked like, except it was REALLY big. It was at least the size of the full moon (as if you were seeing it at night) maybe slightly bigger.

As to the jetplane theory, I don't think so as this light as large (not to mention it was being flashed on a cloud and I don't think plane lights go through clouds as they are weak). Unless this is one REALLY big Airplane. Plus like I said, there is anything in the direction that the light was shining (no Airports, no Army Bases, no Concerts, no Malls, etc.) Its all woods with a small number of family homes (not rich family homes, just your average homes).

I had to share my story with you. I never actually saw anything but here it goes.

My dad and I used to throw the Sunday paper out in a rural part of the state that we live in here in the U.S maybe 5-7 years ago. We would start out at 11:30PM and finish about 6:00AM. We had something like 200 papers to throw and we drove the entire time. My dad made a recording of himself giving directions on where to turn and turn around and head east, etc. We listened to it every Sunday morning to make sure all of the papers got to the subscribers. Almost every Sunday around 2AM we would pull over for 15 minutes and take a little nap in the pitch black of the country side.

This one particular Sunday my dad says "What the heck do you think happened last Sunday?"
I said "What are you talking about?
"Don't you remember? We pulled over to take a nap at around 2 and when we woke up it was almost 4:00 and we were in the next county over." my dad said "It took us 30 minutes to get back to where the tape left off at."
I don't remember any of this and his theory is that we were abducted by aliens and whatever memory block they used on us affected me completely and him only partially.

My dad is a learned and intelligent man and I would never expect him to lie to me for kicks. I suppose that it's possible that he had a dream that was so real that he got confused but to this day he insists that something extra-terrestrial occurred.
