I would have to go out there and say Gengar is my favorite and has been for quite awhile. I love ghost type pokemon, I really do. If Gengar has high speed he can be a really nasty opponent if you're not the trainer. He's also been able to cover many elemental moves in the classic pokemons for just being a ghost/poison type.

There were a lot of spectacular Pokemon in the first Gen. It feels like the creativity from the creators is diminishing every generation.

But my favorite would be a toss up between Blastoise for being my first ever Pokemon, and Pidgeot for always being my RBY Wingman (sorry for the pun). I always got a Pidgey to back up my Squirtle
