Well the last Pokémon game I played was Black 2 and the only shiny Pokémon I had ever caught without using an Action Replay(not counting the red Gyrados in any of the games it was in) was a Wheezing but I don't remember which game. With an Action Replay I had several of each Pokémon in both shiny and regular.

So far since my return to the Pokemon franchise (if you don't count Shiny Giveaway Events, trading, and the Shiny Gyarados in Gold/Silver/Crystal & HeartGold/SoulSilver), I have only captured 1 Shiny Pokemon (and evolve 1 Shiny Pokemon), and that happens to be a Shiny Ponyta, which I evolved it into a Shiny Rapidash.

Other than those two, I haven't captured any other shiny Pokemon.

To be honest, I don't really remember how many I had in the past games, if any at all. I think I have a shiny Zygarde in Ultra Moon that I got from an event. Other than that, the only other shiny I have right now that I know of is in Let's Go: Eevee, and it's a Weedle. I got it in a trade from Minuano around the time I got my first badge.

I finally got my first shiny that I caught myself. It's a shiny Venonat in Let's Go Eevee. Was hunting for a Pikachu though.

This brings my total number of shines I ever had to about 7.

So not only did I need to get a shiny Combee which is already crazy odds, I had to be lucky enough to have it be female.

I was really lucky.

I'd say the most I've ever caught is around 5 across a bunch of games. I'm not the luckiest, and I never got good at shiny hunting, so only the random things happened. I'd like to get good at shiny hunting at some point.

If we count shiny pokemon hatched then I have a few more with a shiny magby in crystal from the odd egg (so count that one if you want) and my shiny froakie that only took 2 years worth of hatching pokemon to get.

Among all games I believe four. I caught some shiny in an old Platinum game, don't really remember who it was. Now that Lets Go has made shiny catching easier, I've caught three shinies in that game. Unfortunately, two are Weedle, lol. The other is a Vulpix which I ended up not using anyway since I was using Alolan Ninetails already.

I've actually never caught a shiny Pokemon in a physical copy of any Pokemon game, only on ROM versions. That will likely change with Pokemon Let's Go Eevee though, once I get the shiny item (I forget what it's called) for completing the Pokedex.

Well, excluding red gyradose, I’ve caught three.

In Black 2, I could a shiny Noctowl.

In Let’s Go Eevee, I have caught a shiny Rattata and a shiny Raticate.

None of those three were on chains. I’m currently on chain 99 for a Vulpix, but still can’t encounter one.

After spending hours and numerous lures shiny hunting with a max combo in Pokemon Let's Go Eevee over the past three or four days, I finally gave up today and broke my combo. 10 minutes later, this beauty appeared.



My first shiny in any physical Pokemon game (excluding the red Gyarados at Lake of Rage). Should I evolve her into a Butterfree and use candies to make him OP? Or should I just leave her as a beautiful red Metapod?

tgags123 : I would personally leave it as is. Butterfree isn't that powerful regardless of how much candy you give it but you'll always have the glorious Red Metapod. Sounds a lot scarier than green eyed butterfree.

Also nice job on the shiny! I'm personally not a fan of shiny hunting as I get bored after 30 minutes lol. I'm pretty lucky when it comes to random wild shinies though.
