After days of hiding after being acquitted from his trial, George Zimmerman emerged from hiding to rescue a black family of 4 from a car crash.

This act of heroism caused more debate over the situation.

Posted in a different thread than the other one because I didn't want to derail.

I read about this. It certainly makes things more interesting involving the case. My friend's dad seems to think that it's some sort of set-up. I don't know about that. To me, it seems like it could be the first step in a man reforming his life by helping people in need. Whether or not he killed Trayvon maliciously, the fact is that a dead boy's blood is still on his hands. Maybe we're about to see something good come out of the whole ordeal. I'm certainly happy that he was in the right place at the right time.

I am happy that he was there, sure. But I still do not like him. I think he is guilty. 

Regardless if he was guilty or not in the previous ordeal.. this is still good regardless of the past... anyone could do this.... it's just that he is relevant to the news... so obviously.. news channels and the sort are going to try and cash in on it.

No one knows what this guy was like before the shooting.  Was he racially motivated to kill the kid?  I don't know; neither do you.

But could he otherwise be a good person?  Maybe he used to volunteer at homeless shelters or he donated blood to save others.  We simply don't know his history.  He could be a good person who was put in an extraordinary situation and made the wrong decision.  That's what a jury of his peers believes.  Why not give the guy the benefit of the doubt?

Its good to see has doing something good for a change but I don't think it should completely cover himself up. He still has more work to do to satisfy me.

Well it is a good thing he was there to save that family of 4, but this ordeal has nothing to do with his trail. Personally I think he is trying to make up for past sins which is a good thing but I still thing he is guilty of murder but this showed us some of his character and I have slightly more respect for him.

You can have your opinion about the case, but this has nothing to do with it, or at least, I don't believe so. I don't remember exactly what it was, but he's worked with black children quite a bit before the trial.

The dude is a common man.
Can anyone watch and do nothing when they see the chance to do something for the better?
I'll say this much if no one puts any brain juice to the last question I asked with all of the info that is currently present.

He stepped up once and almost got crucified for it.
After he was found NOT guilty?
He hides from being lynched?
The dude is as common as they come from what I understand.
Let the dude live in peace.
I am certain we have seen enough problems to let the media direct our behaviour away from what real problems exist in our own lives.

But where does Zimmerman Stand out?
What did he do that caused problems?
He found a few issues with his own neighborhood and decided to do his part.
Granted "Things Happened".
But what do you expect?
Who would step up if there was No problems in the Neighborhood?

He is not a professional.
Nor should we hold him accountable on the same level.
The Media on the other hand?
They see him as a direct threat to their ability to report bad news.
The more people do something to correct problems in their own back yard?
The less bad news they would have to report.
That upsets their ability to make a Profit.
If anyone else does do something to promote no news?
They can expect the same crap and spin the current media does on this guy.

Folks everywhere are taught to mind their own business.
But when you see something that is not right?
What credentials do you need to act?
Do we need a permit now to be human?

The man saved his own skin in a case of self defense.
Later he saved an entire family.

I do not know about the rest of you but I am happy with the good news.
I have heard enough bad news to last me two lifetimes.
Just a thought.

MattyIce : The family was white, actually. Also, if you must blame someone for him getting off (if you think he was guilty of murder, which I do not), then blame the prosecution because they were terrible, not the defense team who was just doing its job.

mister sandman : Racist? There is no evidence. And innocent kid? Pot-smoking, violent... That's innocent? Considering the broken nose and the damage done to the back of Mr. Zimmerman's head, I would hardly call Trayvon innocent. That being said, I don't necessarily disagree with Trayvon attacking Zimmerman out of fear, but I would be hard-pressed to pretend like he is some little angel that never did anything wrong in his entire life. You, my friend, have consumed the Kool-Aid the media has poured down your throat.

I say, good job Zimmerman. I think you are downright stupid for letting the Trayvon Martin situation get the way it did, but you saved a family of four from what could have been their untimely death.

The term "Kool-Aid" can be interpreted better with slang Dictionaries. They might give some insight to what a random internet poster or video maker is talking about provided the context is decipherable.

The person you are are confused about that used that term used in a manner to describe another who was "Buying what another is Selling". ("Selling" and/or Saying.)

Regardless of his debatable past, it IS a good sign that he saved a black family. Maybe he was guilty. But if he was, this is most likely his way of saying sorry and redeeming himself. I really doubt this is all a setup to revive his social status. He seems to be helping in anyway he can.
