The title is self-explanatory, there's plenty of good, old movies out there to enjoy, but what's one movie, or quite a few movies that you're able to think of, that you want to see be remade that hasn't already been done?

With new ideas, new characters, basically new stuff that would make it fun and amazing to watch and enjoy.

And at the same time, what movies do you NOT want to see be remade, or didn't want to see be remade from the start and why?

I usually am not one for the idea of remakes but there are a few remakes that I have liked. For example, Scarface is the best example of a great remake. 13 Assassins is another good one, Ocean's Eleven and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre are the few that I've been satisfied with but otherwise, most other remakes, I've never really liked.

I keep hearing about a remake for The Crow and I certainly don't want that! I think Brandon Lee did an amazing job with that and the film in general was well made. Same goes for Oldboy, I keep hearing about a remake but I cannot imagine the magic in that film being brought back again with anyone else. I wouldn't be too happy if anyone tried to remake any Stephen King movies either but that's just me.

I'd remake a ton of musicals and pray everyone goes crazy when they cant get a single story on film without a verse in song.
Umm.
How about "Zardoz"?
That show changed my frigging life dude.

"Ice pirates".

"Star Crash".

"Battle Beyond The Stars".

"Krull".

"Ninja 3 the Domination". (Forget the other ninja flicks.)

"Deep Blue Sea".

"Tremors 1-3".

"Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness".

The only thing I would do is give it that digital remaster stuff that they did for Star Wars and pop them back into theatres. Half the cast of all of those shows are either Dead or near dead anyway. Nothing but profit.

They could just do a bunch of sequels too. The originals are fine as they are. Movies so funny you could hurt yourself with how much laughter they provide.

Good Luck To All.
I'm done. Stick a fork in me.
Peace.

In a way, The movie I do and don’t want to see a re-make of is the Back to the Future trilogy, mostly because that is a very great movie and I would love to see a re-make, but at the same time, I think it would be bad idea because it was a great movie and I think a re-make could ruin it, so it’s a gamble.

1sam234 : I really don't like remakes of movies. That applies for movies in our time. They're so violent. Watch the 1997 movie, The Shawshank Redemption, and now imagine how violent that would be if they remade that movie. I'm not very fond of new movies. I liked the ones from back in the day like West Side Story.

Well, everyone has their opinions on remake movies, what's their favorite and what they want to see remade or not. That's what this thread's for. ^^

Here's a fun question, because chances are, by the time I answer this post, the movie I say will probably already be in reboot production! ha ha ha ha  Remakes are all the rage lately. Some of them are fun, some of them are tragic. But, I would like to see a few movies remade, for better or worse. 3 Ninjas, I loved these flicks as a young dude. Stephen King's IT, I think it could use a modernizing, make it MUCH more terrifying. Taro the Dragon Boy, my granddad inexplicably had this and it was the first anime I ever watched. And the Vacation movies. Honestly, I just want more Griswolds! But, like I said, most any movie remake you can think of is probably either in production or in the works.

Personally, because of the current political state of our country I would love to see a remake of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. I think that movie is still relevant today, but Hollywood would probably screw it up. The movie I would not want to see remade is any 80's horror movie because Hollywood has ruined what made these movies great which was the practical effects they have replaced with cgi.

None, because 98% of remakes ruin the movie and the 2% that turn out better were already good movies in the first place. So why risk it?

malkin77 : Maybe because Hollywood just wants more cash cows to milk? That's what I'm guessing.

1sam234 : I love that you have replied to two of my posts ^.^ anyway, They are just doing it to suck money out of us but its stupid because it loses fans to the series and personally I lose respect for Hollywood every time.

Although they are already perfected, I'd love to see a remake of the Harry Potter series and The Lord of the Rings series to see more perfection. I might also enjoy a remake of the Star Wars series.
