A month or two ago I started watching some of the "Angry Video Game Nerd" videos on YouTube. The first one I watched was the one about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the NES. I was a bit surprised at how harsh he was on the game, but I did agree with him about some things. Since then I've been watching more and more of the episodes and I like them. My favourite AVGN video is the one called "Game Glitches" where he shows glitches in certain games and introduces us to the "Glitch Gremlin". Just so you know, he does a lot (and I mean A LOT) of swearing in his videos. In my opinion though, the swearing can make for some very funny moments.
So what do you think of the Angry Video Game Nerd? Do you like him? Hate him? If you like him, what's your favourite AVGN video?

NintendoFan0513 : This was pretty funny, And this dude is obviously loaded if he has all these games and systems. He does something I almost never see these days... Take care of his games,  and the swearing wasn't too bad, I've seen a lot worse and I'm sure you have too. Would I go out and watch this guy purposely? Maybe... Not likely though, I'm more into music than I am into this kind of video. What else does this guy have that you think I might like? I hope you haven't quit Vizzed Because I would actually like to know more about this guy. Enjoy your time, You only get so much.

You should watch TheIrateGamer. I thought his reviews were priceless. Notice that every game he reviews is something he hates. His videos were just priceless!

Since this guy is getting a lot of feedback, I'm going to have to try to watch this guy's videos.

Frodlex No, I haven't quit Vizzed. The reason I put the bit about the swearing is because somebody out there might get offended by it. Personally, it doesn't bother me at all. Besides the Angry Video Game Nerd videos, the YouTube channel also has other videos that mostly relate to video games. I don't think it has much about music though, so you might be out of luck if you're looking for stuff about music. PixelBrick Funny you should mention the Irate Gamer, because I have watched a few of his videos. I've only seen a couple of them so far, so maybe I'll continue watching them.

Barathemos I know, I've sort of grown to like him too. As I said when I first posted this, I think the funniest one is the "Game Glitches" one. I especially love the last few minutes with the Rocky glitches. To me, that was the best part of the whole video.

I have watched a lot of videos from AVGN for a while now, and I got to say, all the reviews he does on some of those bad games are pretty funny to watch, I can't get enough of them

He's a bit TOO over the top on a few games. I know that he has to review bad games to get his "angry" in AVGN, but he sometimes goes a bit too much.

Oh, that guy... Okay then... I'm going to have to completely agree with pacman due to the fact that he does literally over-exaggerates and just goes too far over the top for it to be funny or even enjoyable. But I can't really say much about that, many people do it. That of-course isn't the only problem I have with the person. James Rolfe, Cinemassacre also known as the Angry Video Game Nerd, you see he is one of the YouTube personalities that I seriously dislike.His target audience appears to be the more immature or child like viewers. That is the feeling I get from his videos. Not to mention the swearing is excessive, practically completely unnecessary in many cases. The "humorous" or "entertaining" content that he produces is blatantly boring and not remotely funny in most cases. Then again really taste in YouTube personalities depends on the person. I myself dislike the over exaggerating people, such as AVGN and Pewdiepie (Yes he does do it, his reactions are over the top.) I prefer the more calm and well spoken YouTubers as I find them more enjoyable to watch. For example, Chuggaaconroy.

I really enjoy his reviews he informs me of games I should not ever play or else I will waste the money I spent on games that were not worth the money.

PixelBrick : The irate gamer is a bad hack of avgn and a creep, AVGN is fantastic although not as good lately. My favorite episodes are the silver surfer one, action 52, cheetahmen, ninja gaiden, top gun and ghosts and goblins, superman 64, japanese transformers and theres probably more i'm missing out on.

The intros make me cringe and clench my ears in agony for some reason. But he's pretty funny. For some reason, I've thought about what it would be like to have his basement to myself

I personally find him funny. Thing is that people take what he says way too seriously. He doesn't always hate every game he reviews. If you listen to him talk outside of his "nerd" character, you would realize that a lot of what he does is just playing things up for entertainment sake. He's an actor and he's trying to make things interesting.

That being said, the show has gotten kinda stale as of late. I still like James, I just don't find the show as funny as I used to.

The one drawback is that his popularity that was at it's peak about 3 years ago, spawned THOUSANDS of Nerd clones on the net thinking that to make a good review, you had to make a joke about excrement.

I have no problem with him. I don't dislike him despite the impression I give off about him sometimes. The thing that bugs me is not him, but everyone else. Things he says has pretty much become like a meme in that EVERYONE repeats it. He is kind of responsible for the opinions of countless people on some games. It is just so clear that when people 'review' a particular game, it isn't their unbiased opinion, but just an opinion formed by something AVGN nerd said. It bugs me to no end that people can't get their own freaking opinions and just hop on the AVGN bandwagon. Then it leaks to places like this. People write 'reviews' and they just spew off things AVGN said. Or they try to review other games they bad "AVGN style". What he does is not a review. He picks frustrating and annoying things about games, and does over the top rants for the purpose of comedic value to make people laugh. There is nothing wrong with that. But it is annoying to see people try to copy that as a review. When it is just him, I can find it enjoyable. When you include the whole Internet community, it is like hearing "OVER 9000!!!!" or "Took an arrow to the knee" for the ten billionth time.

rcarter2 : Love AVGN and james rolfe but I agree, people have got to stop copying him or trying to be like him, it's not funny get your own act.
