DittoDude44 : I agree, they are lightweight, easy to move and use, you don't have to worry about sharpening it constantly every 5 minutes. But the one thing about them is that they break so easily and I hate that about them. I will be writing, snap, push more to get lead, scribble a little more, snap. They break a lot even though I don't press down when I write, they break anyway. So I only use a little lead at the top to avoid it from breaking all the time. But yeah I know what you mean.

Well, for me, I just use a lead pencil (or mechanical pencil, whatever you call it, ) Much better to use because no more sharpening and it's much easier to hold. And you can erase whatever mistakes easily instead of using whiteout for pens.

Whenever I would write, I used the regular pencil because I could not deal with the breaking lead of the mechanical pencil. It just seemed like a dumb idea to me.

Well, I use both Pen and Regular Pencil to write.

Pen for the subjects in general, and Pencil in Math and when having to draw something.

However, I'll go with Pen, since I use it everyday.

It ultimately depends on what class it is, for maths I do make mistakes from time to time and I need to rub it out. With english although I make a lot of mistakes, and by a lot i really mean a lot I have to use a pen because our english teacher makes us use a pen.

Since multivoting is disabled, I'm going to go with mechanical pencil. I write with those almost all the time due to how darn comfortable it is. If I'm not using that, I'm using a pen.

Pen feels smoother for me, It is slicker and I can write fast with it. The obvious con with it is you can not rub out mistakes.

I use a mechanical about 95% of the time...I only use pen if the teacher tells us to. 
I like mechanical pencils...you don't have to walk over to the pencil sharpener at all, and they are write nicely anyway.

Sometimes I mess around with my pens though, sometimes making makeshift pen-guns and stuff.

Well for the art 2 class I am taking, my teacher requires that I have like 3 mechanical and 3 regular pencils. I like mechanical just because you can get more detail in them when you are sketching and they just seem to work better. But my teacher requires regular pencil because they are better for shading. I don't really use regular wooden pencils much now outside of art class because I don't see the point, they get dull fast, they always have to be sharpened and mechanical pencils don't. That is why I think mechanical is better to use. At least for me anyways.
