Electrive rules because it has a high physical attack stat. mine knows focus punch-thunder punch-iron tail-head butt . And it rules because of it's al out physical attacks. So don't teach it special attacks like thunder cause electrive is a hands [and tails] on pokemon.

I actually think that the electric type Pokemon excel more when it comes to special attack moves.
I think some actually are good with physical attack moves as well such as electivire and thunder punch.

Yeah, austipokedude is right, they are very exceptional in sp attack with the moves that they can learn. One of my friends ev rained his electivire up to level 100 and he trained its attack up to 378, which is 1 away from max and it was really awesome. I have one that is like level 70 right now and it has pretty good stats. It has been a while since I have played this game and I had a great time playing it. I hope to play it again soon!

Mine knows thunder punch, focus punch and thunderbolt or something like that, but it is really strong and I agree with you completely, it is a great Pokémon when trained well.

Razor-987 :
That sounds like my electivire
Trust me, I put A LOT of effort in him to train it.
I'm glad it only needed 60000 exp points to be lv 100.
Damn, I love that electivire you know? Its my proud and beauty!
There is NO single electivire comparable against the atk of my electivire!
I feel so prized atm lol.

I actually learned my electivire both focus punch for a really K.O move. And ice smash for the massive damage and fast killing.
Focus punch needs 2 turns. Ice smash only one turn xD.
With a base power of 80, black belt, and the atk bonus of electivire, its massive power can kill almost every Pokémon!
In Gen 3 it was that electric moves are only based on sp.atk..
So basically Thunder Punch's power is based on your electivire's sp.atk.
But in Gen 4, they turned this system around! So now Thunder punch belongs to the atk stat instead of the sp.atk stat.
To bad Pokémon light platinum didn't use this system.
There is a similar hack that did program this system into his hack!
Pokémon dark rising.
Its pretty cool, but. Didn't play it much to be honest. Got bored because of slow start.
My electivire's other moves are thunderbolt and thundeerpunch.
IT fields black belt. And his hp is pretty low.
But, since his power. He K.O'd everything before it get hit!
