I think if you want to get that game to work, you night need to download the vizzed retro game room plugin to do that, and to play it you need to click on the right option under the game to play it.

Hello and welcome to Vizzed, fellow gamer! I love classic 80's computer games as well, even though I was never even born in those days to experience them. Should you need help on any other matters, you may consult the FAQ and Help Center, located in your Control Panel.

I tried figuring out why you couldn't play Xyphus, but my efforts were unfortunately fruitless (either the game freezes at the "create new disk or continue" screen, or I'm unable to insert the "scenario" disk once I'm done creating my characters). You may have to try downloading an Apple II emulator and the ROM for Xyphus online. I assume you're using Windows, so you should use this emulator here: http://applewin.berlios.de/ (I cannot make links yet, so you'll have to copy it to your address bar, sorry :C). Now, linking to the ROM directly might be stepping into murky water, so I'll just say that you can download the ROM by Googling "xyphus" and clicking the fourth result.
