Yeah, I would have to say RPG as well. Especially in sandbox games, like GTA, where you can do whatever you want, and it's in a realistic world.
But I love fantasy RPG's as well, like Final Fantasy. There is a lot of creativity and imagination that goes through in making great fantasy RPG's like Final Fantasy.

Pokémon is a great example because its all about leveling up to get past the next goal, being it a gym leader or your rival, its awesome and I love it.

It's very difficult for me to just pick one, but if I had to, I'd probably say platforming games. I grew up on Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon, and those games just seem to have almost unlimited replay value for me. Of course, I tend to care as much about game-play mechanics as I do for plot, and I've always liked the way platform games handle. Among my favorites for platformers are Crash, Spyro, Jak and Daxter, and Ratchet and Clank.

A close second to this genre would be RPGs. The tendency toward a longer game is appealing, and the storylines tend to be deeper and more immersive. I have to say RPG's are my favorite and Action RPG's are just getting better and better... thou at times it does seem like they take steps back when devos work too much on making it look pretty and forget about game play and story, But I digress I just find RPG's to offer the most verity in the long run as well as longer game play.
