how come we dont have a 3do or atari jaguar emulator in here yeah they both suck but theres some good games on both of those conoles and i dont think it would be to hard to emulate them

I don't think David has added those games because the Atari Jaguar is extremely faulty and fragile, most of the time, they don't work and David I don't think has seen those games because both consoles ain't really known to video gameing historians like David.

As for the 3do, I'm not sure why he don't have them, I think it's mostly didn't do too well because the Nintendo/Sega Rivalry going on at the time plus the 5th generation consoles released, the 3do was pretty much forgot about.

3DO is a CD system and CD systems are too costly to add to the site. Sega CD was added because there's not a lot of games for the Sega CD, plus it didn't really cost me extra to have added because the Genesis emulator we use in the plugin already supported Sega CD. Adding new systems costs money so I have to try and figure out if the costs are worth adding it. Plus there's probably no good open source 3DO emulators out there.

As for Atari Jaguar, the Plugin does support it sorta (due to MESS). A few Atari Jaguar games work but not many. The ones that do work don't work perfectly either. Due to the lack of games for the Atari Jaguar and due to how many people dislike the system, I don't think it'd even be worth investing money into having added to the Plugin.


Personally, I grew up with an Atari Jaguar and a 3DO and I loved them both (in fact I still have them). Sure, the average game wasn't as good as the average game for their competitors but they still have a good library of fun games. So I wouldn't say either system sucks, unless you've personally played every game for both systems to know that they suck.

It is actually surprising how many people do think those 2 systems suck and people are just basing their opinions on the opinions of others (probably people like AVGN who makes a living criticizing stuff, so that's not a good source). Based on the fact that these 2 systems are stereotyped as being bad actually makes me want to get them added to the site someday, just so users can experience the good games that those 2 systems did have.

Davideo7 : While I have never used a 3DO, I completely agree with your opinion. AVGN has given the internet a biased opinion of the systems. Every system has some great games on it, it's just those who actually spend the time to find out what they are that know them.

psychonauts1116 : The best game for the Atari Jaguar is Aliens vs Predator, and thankfully that game does actually work with the RGR Plugin (although it has a few issues but nothing that takes away from the game's overall experience).
