I agree, the main reason anyone would want to buy a gaming console is so they can game of course but with the "new" xboxone they added a bunch of useless things to it.

Bluey5 : Yes, I am a gamer. Particularly one who follows what is being said. It sounds like you are not one that follows what is being said. You said it is unacceptable. Where you surprised that they didn't showcase games yet? If you were, then you obviously didn't even pay attention to what they have been saying for 3 months before the release. They said numerous times that the release would not showcase games or gameplay. They specifically said numerous times that they were waiting for E3 to showcase the games, gameplay, and gaming features because there would be far more gaming viewers there than their release. That is pretty much ALWAYS the case. So I don't believe focusing on TV was unacceptable. That has nothing to do with being a gamer. That has to do with actually deciding to pay attention to what they have been saying for 3 months and wait for E3 to see the game side.

rcarter2 : However, because of the poor presentation (I watched it all) they really have to do something really special with the games, and it looks like they are going to be relying on Rare to do this for them with what seems to be a new Banjo Kazooie game. Of course the last one was not really good. It does not really seem that from what we know they have anything that can save its reputation enough.

Tails the Fox : At least there is a comment I can understand. One thing I hate is how people are all harping on "they didn't show any games". Knowing the games will be shown later, I just looked specifically at the features. I like a lot of them. But I do agree with you that they did not do a very good job on their part of the presentation. That did hurt them. We will just have to see what happens at E3 when they do showcase games. I would prefer something other than Banjo being a headline showcase because I am not as big of a Banjo Kazooie fan myself, but that is a personal thing for me.

rcarter2 : Like everyone else, I was hoping for a new Killer Instinct game, but I think that one is having copyright confusion between Nintendo and Rare. If Microsoft don't manage to put out the amazing game that they need then gamers will be put off. Sony have an advantage because we know what to expect, but it could also mean that they have nothing new to show.

It dissapointed me. I never really liked the Xbox brand, but I thought Microsoft would make good improvements. Instead they focused on everything except the games. That right there, angers me. Also, a variety of infamous flaws like, the kinect always needs to be used, lack of games, and horrible design will turn off most gamers. People probably won't buy it. Either Nintendo or Sony, will be the kings of the console market. It would be cool if Sega made a console, but then again. It will never happen.

rcarter2 : Dude...I only asked you if you were a gamer...I didn't say you wasn't. Don't ever say I am not a gamer, you are just throwing insults at me, and basically just telling me to "do my research", when I already did. I don't care about your "follows what is said". I am an all around gamer, that is it and that is all. No, I wasn't surprised that didn't show games. DUH! Jeez...obviously paying attention? What was there to really pay attention to? Everything was just TV and Internet, besides, I got all of the info on this system already...not that hard dude. What you failed to understand is that people are still giving it a chance at E3, and that's only if YOU were paying any attention. Focusing on TV is acceptable now? Gamers nowadays...I guess the world is changing fast, so I don't blame you for being a new generation gamer. But your not going to get your point across. I don't like it, and the majority of others don't like, and people like it. Big deal, get over it. Microsoft is to busy trying to get features packed it on it's system, and according to gaming, everything on the console should have something to do with gaming, not something else like TV.

You are just a supporter of Microsoft, nothing to discuss with you. You believe what you believe and I accept the truth, and we go on about our ways. You probably haven't heard too much about the system, because that is not the only thing gamers are mad about...Study the Non-mainstream facts about the Xbox ONE and then rethink this situation, because blocking used games is unacceptable as well...and I hope it isn't true. Not everyone has the money to do all of this nowadays, and back then gaming was easy and WAY cheaper, as I liked it. I'm not saying anything should stay the same, but the change is for the worst. Accept it or not, I don't really care. What matters to me is MY own opinion, not others. If Xbox ONE and Microsoft turns a new leaf, more power to them. I hope they do, because the Reveal was still awful, no matter what you say. I didn't come here to discuss opinions anyways... the facts are already there, and it is too much of a downfall for the Xbox One. I will give it a SLIGHT chance at E3, but what is the use of gaming on it and you can't give them to your friends, or eliminating discs? Please look into this more...I am surprised  you will have enough money to cover this LARGE amount of what everything is going to cost on it. Not saying that if you were successful then you could get it story or anything...but still. By the way, you are thinking way to lightly on this situation.

Bluey5 : New generation gamer? If you are 15 years old as your age here shows, I was a gamer before you were even born. 2nd, I am not exactly a big fan of Microsoft. For gaming perspectives, Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo all have their perks and flaws, so I really don't have some hardcore dedication to one over the other. I assure you I am well informed on the device, not just the mainstream facts. I realize that is not the only reason people aren't happy, but pretty much NOBODY here is really talking about anything except being upset that they didn't focus on games. So that is what I will address. As a matter of fact, I agree with you completely about the blocking used games. I don't think it is a good move to take. Personally, it won't really affect me. I rarely buy games when they are new anyway. I just recently got my degree, and started my career, so I don't exactly have the money to spend on games at their new release prices. I pretty much always just wait for the prices to drop anyway. So for me personally, that is not going to effect me, so I can overlook it. But again, I still think it is not a good move.

But anyway, I was not trying to attack you. Sorry it came off that way. Like you, I am stating my opinion. I am fully aware that this is negative for a lot of people. Particularly the younger ones who don't realize the overall convenience of the device because their interest is pretty much purely on the game playing aspect. I look at it from an adult perspective who runs his own household. I could care less about sharing my games with friends. Rarely do that anyway . I could care less about the used game thing because I never buy games at their new release prices anyway. I wait for them to drop about $20. If I can actually watch my normal network programs cheaper on an Xbox one rather than cable, that is a positive for me. If it is the same amount cost wise, it is still good for me because that is just less companies I have to pay bills to. Now, E3 can still ruin this whole thing for me. If I see nothing interesting in their game reveals, I likely won't bother. I'm not looking for anything new per say. I am just looking for games I can see myself enjoying. I have done my extensive research on it. I see the complaints, but they simply are not particularly negative for me. In my situation (not being a teenager who has the financial security of parents), the non gaming features are alone appealing to me. That's all.

rcarter2 : I didn't mean New Generation gamer as in age, because of course you were gaming because of me. I am talking about the feeling and the essence of it. I want to talk about the Xbox One itself, because it isn't interesting to me. Majority of the people here are talking about the games because they are afraid they will screw that part up as well. I congratulate you on your degree also, great job! Being as your a gamer though, it is odd that you don't play a lot of them...

But that's only what Microsoft wants you to do...they will get there money one way or another. You looking at it in an "adult perspective" means you just gave them want they wanted...but I don't blame you on that choice either. People will like what they are going to like, and I am nobody to oppose it. I just don't like it much... I also don't have THAT much financial add of my parents...I buy most of my games really.

I understand that these features are appealing to you. I accept your pov. But all I am saying is that if it WASN'T a gaming console, what they did with it would be perfectly fine. But it is a gaming console...But eh, what the heck. E3 better be fantabulous for them lol, or they lost the console war. I don't really like TV much though...so I guess I can accept your ideal on the Xbox. Just...don't think so lightly on the gamer side of this, because most of us is really offended (and butthurt :/) over this. But I have A Wii U, and I am getting the Ps3, so I will be fine. I wish you best of luck in your career by the way! Maybe you could get more games in the future... (^o^)

Bluey5 : This will be my last time responding to avoid excessive sandwich posting. I will clear up something because you did say "Being as your a gamer though, it is odd that you don't play a lot of them..."

I actually do play a lot of them. I own 87 NES games, 31 Game Boy games, 22 GBA games, 54 SNES games, 27 Dreamcast games, 18 PS1 games, 40 PS2 games, 49 Xbox games, and 24 Xbox 360 games. Those are what I currently own (which comes to 352), not including ones I have sold throughout all that time. Of course, there are plenty that I played through but only rented/borrowed. It also doesn't include the ones I have downloaded onto my console. I just rarely buy them when they are first released. But I certainly do play a lot of them.

I do know I am doing exactly what they want But on the other hand, ever since television recording devices like TIVO came out, I have always wanted someone to make a device that does everything in your entertainment system. I have loved the idea of that concept for years. and now Microsoft happens to be taking that direction. Now, for a lot of people, they are probably just doing it too fast. They might have benefited from taking it one step at a time instead of trying to full out dive into it. They certainly have said in the past that their ultimate goal was to become kind of the one stop device for your entertainment center. But I do think that they would have more luck with that buy easing into it. Maybe they are just trying to not do a little bit at a time so Sony doesn't start doing the same thing. Only time will tell if they they can achieve their ultimate goal. They definitely will have to successfully rope in the customers are are specifically looking to play games.

Seems like no one so far has mentioned the requirement for the Kinect2 which will be an ALWAYS ON camera. This is actually ILLEGAL in some countries and will limit their market exposure when the Xbone gets banned in those countries.

I know Germany has already kicked up a stink about the Xbone's "always on" camera, citing that it actually violates their strict privacy laws. Microsoft did not handle this well and (on Twitter) publicly insulted the Information Minister who holds a PhD in I.T.

For those not familiar with how the EU works, Germany have a lot of influence in what the EU allows and what it bans. Microsoft have already been in trouble with the EU for bundling Internet Explorer with Windows and they were forced to include what is called Browser Choice to allow people to download alternatives.

This "always on" camera could well make the entire EU ban the console under various national and EU-wide privacy laws. That's quite a market share to lose from the word go.

My opinion is that you can't determine it yet, but I'm certainly not pre-ordering it! So far, it feels like they are concentrating on all of the features, which is nice, but if it doesn't have any games, serious gamers will NOT  even consider buying it.

I think that the XBOX One is a complete and utter failure.  It can't go without 24 hours without being connected to the internet.  You can't let your friends borrow their games, it's just horrible.  Every time I hear something new about the XBOX One, I actually believe that they are joking because it sounds so horrible.

Carnas :  Yes, that is actually a very good point too.  You absolutely have to have your Kinect hooked up for you to actually do anything. I don't know about having the camera on at all times, but you may have heard something that I didn't.

I just don't like the XBOX One at all.  However, night turns to day and when the XBOX is released, it could actually redeem itself is it could be better than people anticipated.  I won't be buying though.

A funny fact:  Microsoft's stocks actually went down when they revealed their new XBOX.  Sony's stocks also went up.

I think it is going to fail.
You have to be online at all times. No offline mode!
When you already bought Internet. You need to pay for online!
Also, you can't trade games with your friends.
I mean, I might want to trade Borderlands for Bioshock with my friend!
I mean, come on microsoft, you can do better than this!

I think the xboxone will put Microsoft out of business yes put Microsoft out of business air go make them go bankrupt due to low sales because they managed to waste a ton of money promoting and making and distributing a gaming console  with in my opinion the worst features in gaming history. I think Sony's play station 4 will easily out sell and be more popular than xboxone one because the PS4  has better graphics and features and the xboxones features are unappealing and unwanted. A couple of xboxones unappealing feature is the fact you must pay to pay a game that wasn't played on the console you first brought it on, and it has a big bulky tank like design that looks incredibly heavy.

My thought is.....why did they call it  Xbox One.  Its like they went back in time. Or they callit that because its the number one Xbox. But anyway i know its going to be good but PS4 is better. Thats My opinion though.
