First, to everyone involved in wishing me a happy birthday, I want to apologize in taking so long to write a response. I've been totally overwhelmed at work and I even had to work my butt off today so that I could come here and write this. I'm surprised I don't have a scalp full of white hair after the past week and a half, and I still have a week left to get through.

I don't normally celebrate my birthdays though... at least, I haven't since I moved out at the age of 18. However, this year my birthday was rather special; it happened to land on mother's day. I love my family to pieces, and the fact that my special day was aligned with hers..... well, that's awesome to me. It doesn't happen very often, and I think the next time it's supposed to happen is 2019. That date seems awfully close, because I'm fairly certain that in all 26 years of my life, mother's day has only been on my birthday two times at most.

I really wanted to do something very, very special with my mother. At first I thought I'd take her down to the caves I visited, and to see any of the other tourist-y things they offer up there in Kentucky. She doesn't get out of the house much, you see, and I wanted to do something different... something that would build memories! My father, however, told her of my plans, and she quickly called to tell me it was a no-go. No matter how many times I begged her, she said the idea was too overwhelming and exciting for her... that she'd rather just sit at home and watch a movie.

That's exactly what I did NOT want to do. I wracked my brain for other ideas and asked if I could take her horse back riding at a nearby national park. Neither of us have been on horses and it's a fairly close drive. Still.... the answer was no. In desperation, I turned to my dad for help. He gave me a great idea: take her to the gardens. There was a set of gardens she hadn't visited and had always wanted to.

So that's where I took my mother. The gardens weren't impressive, but they were peaceful. I got to do a lot of talking with my mother, and we really had a great time. When I took her back home, I cooked dinner for her (a special shout out to Mia03 : since it was her recipe I cooked), and my family LOVED the meal! My mom stuck a '2' and a '6' on top of a very lopsided muffin, and I blew the candles.

Wow! 26! Life really flies by, even though it seems to drag on at certain points. The thing is.. I can't believe I'm still so young! And yet I'm a year older. One year closer to being gone from this world if I die of old age. One year closer to my Savior. One year closer to whatever comes. I've had very few friends because I've always been a very shy, closed off person. I naturally keep to myself and I'm not very confident in most areas of my life.

Vizzed really changed that for me. Here, I can talk, discuss, and make friends. I would trust so many people here with my life, and that's not something I could say before. It's a nice feeling, and all of your well wishes just really brought that home for me. I felt special, and loved..... and I really, REALLY wanted to thank each and every one of you for that. Genuinely, and not out of obligation or politeness, I thank you. This was one of my best birthdays ever, and you were a huge part of that.

supercool22: Even though I don't know you all that well, you were the VERY first to wish me a happy birthday! While I have to say that I fully expected people to stalk my wall around midnight going into my birthday, I NEVER expected a birthday wish 3 days early! haha! thanks so much! It really kind of got me a little excited about the idea that my birthday was coming up soon. Thanks for being the first person to ever wish me a birthday so early on!

You also wished me a birthday an hour early, but I'm guessing that's because you're an hour behind server time? Whatever the reason, thanks so much. haha! I certainly won't ever forget 'Discord'.

marcus047: My goodness! The second one to give me well wishes... and so full of energy! I know you're rather new here and had a few rough spots, but I have every confidence that you can work your way out of it. I think you have the potential to show others you are capable of being a valuable contributor to the site. I thank you for coming to me for advice, even though I might not always be the best person to ask it from. I do enjoy your pms though, and you can rant to me any time. Thanks for the happy birthday! Also, thanks for letting me know that 'we' loves me, however 'we' are.

It's absolutely adorable, and I know that's the reason we first began talking. Although we haven't talked much, it really warmed my heart to see that you cared enough to stop by.^.^ You should stop by more often!

Matthew2321 : You know you can always come to me when you get bored. You're kind of quiet, but that's not a bad quality. I appreciate that work you've done, the encouragement you've given me in the past, and the kindness with which you treat my friends. ^.^ Keep it all up. I know you and I haven't always been on the best of terms, and that at one point I even removed you from my friends list. However, it's nice to know that you don't hold it against me, and you know that you can turn to me regardless. Even though I don't give in to your very frequent requests, it feels good to know that we can still talk, or that you can vent to me when you really need to. You're in those years where everything seems so big, but I hope that I can help you see sometimes that they're not all that bad. Anyways, thank you for wishing me happy birthday. It really meant a lot to me!

Thanks for your continued support. I remember how quiet you were when you first joined vizzed, and I'm so glad to watch you blossoming into a wonderful and active member. There's nothing I could ever say that would justly explain how I feel about our friendship. Despite your age, you exhume a level of maturity that just doesn't exist in most kids your age during this time. I could never, EVER thank you enough for our friendship. I remember how it first started over the simple sharing of music, and how you opened my world up to something I never imagined I could enjoy.

You have consistently opened my eyes to things outside the world of music, and I thank you for that. As I said, words aren't enough to tell you how much I appreciate you, so I'm going to leave it at that.

It was totally awesome. You know, when you first joined vizzed, I kind of thought "Oh, another young user. That's okay."
