So I'm about to head to the bank to make a deposit, and I was thinking about how I was satisfied with my bank, but I still was thinking about other options. For those of you who have a bank, what bank (or other financial institution) do you use? I use BBVA Compass and I think they're good in this area, but I'd like to know who you have and if you like them!

USAA is epic. Like, fantastic. It's only open to military members and their familys though, so that's a limiter. My granddad was in the Air Force, so I am allowed to have an account with them.

mrfe : I have USAA car insurance because my mom and my dad were both in the military. I wasn't aware that they had a bank/credit union. I know there was Navy Federal Credit Union, as my parents used to use them, but USAA having one is awesome!

I have a bank account with RBS ( Royal bank of Scotland. )
Although I don't have full access to it ( I'm only able to withdraw around £20 pound a week.
My parents put £10 a week ( £40 a month. ) so it's up to me how much I save up.

I bet a European Bank is nice. I mean, technically BBVA Compass is European because it's based out of Spain, but it pretty much runs like a normal American bank here. Maybe that's the way all banks are run, I don' t know.

I dont know how american banks are run but I dont know of anything that makes european banks better.
you get nice ones and crap ones, same as anywhere else.
they dont tend to have as much power as they do in the us which is nife I guess. beyond that not much comes to mind

I use Lloyd's TSB, been with them since I was like 12 years old. They are an ok bank, but I am thinking of switching to Halifax, as from what I have seen they just offer a better service.

I used BBVA Compass. Because of the random assortment of people that I know (and they all use different banks -.-), I get a pretty good number of reviews - good and bad about the other banks in our area. (BB&T, Regions, Wells Fargo (or whatever they're called now), and the random assortment of other smaller banks and credit unions) So far, I think Compass is winning in terms of quality, care, reliability. My stepdad had issues with Regions charging him fees that they didn't tell him about, claimed they did, then turned around and claimed they were new so nobody really knew... My husband had issues with BB&T charging him for crap that he didn't purchase and when he took it up with him, they claimed some BS about upgrading accounts or something when he never did.

Either way, there's a lot of weird crap that go on at the banks around here. Compass is the only one that I trust at all.

I have a bank account with BDO (Banco de Oro), mostly for depositing my savings and for making it easier for my parents to send my monthly allowance. It's currently the best and most reliable bank here. China Bank used to be the best, but now it just went down hill.
