So I've had sleep paralysis for many years. It's when you're sleeping, but you half wake up and you can't move and it's sorta hard to breathe. Sometime you see unpleasant things from your dreams as well :/
Has anyone else had any experiences similar to this??

samyy : Holy cow, I'm sorry that happens to you! I don't think I suffer from sleep paralysis, I just call it "Lazy and I don't want to get out of bed sometimes"-is.  It's not as severe as your condition, but it's still a thorn in my side.

It's getting better, though.

That sounds horrible, but to stay on topic, no I have never experienced something like that myself. Only things I have happen to me in my sleep is the feeling of falling, I have heard that is pretty normal thou. Happens to a lot of people apparently.

EvilAlu : Apparently the feeling of falling is caused by your heart skipping a beat in your sleep.

samyy : That would make sense, more sense than what I heard anyway lol I forget who said it, but someone on TV said it was like a defense mechanism to stop us falling from a tree, when we used to have tails? I don't know sounded a bit off to me. What you said sounds more believable.

EvilAlu : Yeah I saw a documentary and it says you have that feeling because it's your bodies way of jolting your heart back into rhythm.
Lol, that person on TV is wrong, I mean, if you have the feeling of falling it isn't going to stop you falling from a tree; if you're already falling from a tree it's too late for the "feeling of falling" to save you >.<

It always happens to me. I kinda got used to it already.
There are even those times when I'm awake and about to sleep, and it just suddenly feels like it's definitely gonna happen once I close my eyes, so I stand up and drink a glass of water and go back to bed. It never happens to me after drinking, whether I drink before sleeping or after experiencing sleep paralysis. Rolling on bed and jumping also helps. You'll just feel it when it's about to happen, but I can't really explain how... I just got used to the feeling.

Wow hadn't heard of this before, I've experienced it once or twice when I've been feeling ill but never realized it was common enough to be categorized. About this time last year I had a sore throat to rule over all sore throats and it was middle of exam time as well  just happened to wake up in the night, which I don't do often-probably as a result of my throat which (I'm not even kidding but running out of parenthetical features) was the worst infection I've ever gotten,, and found 5-6 robots surrounding my bed like I'm a sacrificial goat, and not the nice friendly robots but the classic Disney cartoon square-head cylinder pincer arm type robots... went to a doctor, took some meds and all better now Also another time I was trying to wake up as I'm sure my mum was calling me. I was looking across my room from my bed, I'd left the light in the fish tank on by accident so I could see everything but I couldn't move. Managed to slap out of it a few seconds later when she burst through the door, not a pleasant morning

This truly sounds like it is a horrible thing to have, I am sorry for whoever here has it, it sounds completely awful. I don't have it however I think I am an insomniac and I find it really hard to fall asleep some nights, I always toss and turn and can't fall asleep and it sucks. It doesn't matter what time I put myself to bed I take hours to fall asleep and it really sucks on the days that I had school I would feel unrested and tired and I would fall asleep on the bus rides. I just got so tired, so although I don't have this, I find it very hard to get good sleep on some nights

Well i don't know if this is any thing like that but some times i have seizures when i sleep and they wake me up and i have tremors which is wherer i fall down and lose all control of my body but that happens when i'm awake. I guess the only thing that can fit in that category is most of my dreams are most peoples nightmares. I usually only have dreams about murder, sex or sex with murder. My last nightmare was when i was getting married 2 my ex girlfriend and i woke up in a hot sweat with my heart beating about 100 times a second.
